<em>"'Released from foreign war, we would probably be plunged into all the misery of anarchy and intestine war. Can we suppose that the people of the south, would submit to having the seat of Empire at Philadelphia, or New England; or that the people oppressed by a change of government, contrasting their misery with their former happy state, would not invite Britain to reassume the sovereignty.” — James Chalmers, Plain Truth, 1776 </em>

If the one above is the argument, you might consider that the colonists did obtain independence from England. That by itself was something that Chalmers always thought to be impossible without serious repercussions. He used to say that  in the case of achieving freedom, America would just end up being attacked and maybe even colonized by some other country. What happened, thought, was that after the revolution, other countries gained respect for America as an opponent and the country was eventually left to be.

Which change makes Dr. Jordan's situation more plausible in the following scenario?
Tems11 [23]

Answer:

change "the government" to "a privatized bioengineering company"

Explanation:

Changing the statement that Dr. Jordan received funding from the government to the statement that she received funding from a privatized bioengineering company, would make her story more plausible. This is because as a Bioengineer in the same field, it is easy for her efforts to be recognized by the Bioengineering company who also shares similar goals and objectives with her.

This does not rule out the fact that it is impossible for her to have received funding from the government. But the story would be more plausible if the funding came from a privatized bioengineering company for the above-stated reason.

Why was the Nationalist Party more popular in China’s cities than in the countryside? Wealthy people who supported the party wer
Ilya [14]
<span>Because the Communist Chinese actually fought the Japanese. As laid out in classic Confucian thought, the primary responsibility of a government is to protect the kingdom from the foreign barbarian. The Communists did this, the Nationalists did not. 2. Economic reform in the areas they controlled. The corruption of the powerful had been out of control for years in China. Like all revolutionaries, the Communists din the early years made an effort to end injustices. Peasants were treated as virtual slaves, and servants were basically slaves. 3. A surprising amount of support based on sexual equality. China's power system had always ignored women. The communists did not, and git a lot of support for it. A side bonus is that polygamy is not that popular with the men who aren't rich either. Russia may have had a network of secret police, but China had a network of grandmother's loyal to the government.</span>
