A modifier is an optional element in phrase structure or clause structure, they modify aka. change the meaning  of another element in the structure, in this case, the right answer would be letter A.

The correct answer is a) The group members who were working on the project together met on Saturday. In grammar, a modifier is an optional element in phrase structure or clause structure. A misplaced modifier is a word, phrase, or clause that is improperly separated from the word it modifies/describes. Due to this separation, sentences seem sound awkward, ridiculous, or confusing.

A sub's hull contains everything (crew, engine, supplies, equipment) inside the sub. The hull is shaped like a tube, which allow
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

A

Explanation:

This is a more less question. It is a powerful thing to learn. More/Less can be very confusing. This one seems to be no exception. The key sentence is this one.

The deeper the sub goes, the higher the pressure becomes.

So deeper means more pressure.

A is certainly one answer. 58 < 71. That means that 71 is deeper than 58. Deeper means more pressure. So 58 has less pressure than 71

B Deeper means more pressure. 389 is deeper than 240.

389 has more pressure.

C 28 is deeper than 9.  deeper is more pressure. C is wrong.

D Same reason 198 is deeper than 195.

deeper is more

198 has the most pressure.

In at least 150 words, discuss the purpose for including references to the affair between Abigail and Proctor in The Crucible.
Fynjy0 [20]
The purpose for including the affair was to have character development in the story. Abigail was willing to do anything, including the attempt to try and kill Goody Proctor in order to obtain John. This also made the foundation of Abigail, Goody Proctor, and John and how they were all significant in story development. If the writer had left of the detail of the affair, we wouldn't know why Abigail was trying to get rid of Elizabeth unless we made blind assumptions.
