Corroboration: what were two similarities between bryan’s Speech and lease’s

History
1 answer:
disa [49]2 years ago
5 0

Answer:

  • The first similarity between both speeches is that <em>they addressed the same concern towards farmer's conditions.</em>
  • The second similarity is that they both<em> disagreed with the wealthy class taking over the country.</em>

Explanation:

William Jennings Bryan was a <u>Democratic and Populist leader</u> who ran for the U.S. presidency three times. He is famous for the<em> Cross of Gold </em>speech he delivered at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. <em>"You shall not crucify mankind upon a cross of gold". </em>

Mary Elizabeth Lease was a speaker for the<u> Populist party in the 1890´s.</u> She encouraged farmers to speak about their disagreement with the economic situation. <em>"It is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people".</em>

<em>Bryan and Lease</em> both <em>spoke on behalf of poor people</em>, mostly farmers who were<em> working nonstop</em> and <em>receiving little in exchange</em> at a time<u> where industry was in constant development </u>and where <u>the government was more focused on making money</u> than on the poor conditions farmers lived by.

Why does Joshua Drake allow his children to work in textile factories? List at least two pieces of evidence. Your answer should
Amanda [17]
I have attached a document I found that details the questioning of Joshua Drake. I based my answer from this document.

Joshua Drake allows his children to work in the textile factories because of NECESSITY.

Joshua Drake only works for 2 days. He has other means of income but these are not permanent nor are they enough to subsidize the needs of the family.

Everyone in the family needs to work in order for them to satisfy their most basic needs. That is why his children also work because what they earn goes to the family coffers.

For Joshua Drake, it is preferable to work limited hours and earn lower wages compared to working longer hours but is not regularly employed.
