The setting of the novel "Sense and Sensibility," by Jane Austen, basically happens in the English countryside. "Sense and Sensibility" was distributed amid the Regency time frame, which occurred between 1795-1837. Around this period England saw numerous adjustments in writing and different expressions, which may have stirred Austen to enjoy her love for composing. Rather than being variants of modern romantic stories related to a historical background, Regency sentiments are a particular kind with their own plot and expressive traditions. Specifically, the more conventional Regencies include a lot of wise, quick-paced dialogues between the heroes and almost no comment over sexual attributes. Anyhow, it should also not be named a Victorian epic, because if that would be the case, it will be an extremely age-old example of the issues present in “Sense and Sensibility”, with respect to ladies.

Moreover, this regency romantic work incorporate more social realism and modern portrayal of the characters. This implies that their general setting is in Regency England, however the plot, portrayal, or composition style of the work stretches out to convey set guidelines of the past Romantic era. Characters act according to modern time values.

It bridges the gap between the Romantic period and Regency as it features praise and incorporates realism too.

Foreshadowing is a literary device in which a writer gives an advance hint of what is to come later in the story. How does the a
mr_godi [17]

In the story called, “The Monkey’s Paw,” the author, W.W Jacobs, uses foreshadowing to add suspense. When Mrs. White asks Sergeant Major if any one else made a wish he says, “Yes. I don't know what the first two were, but the third was for death." The author also uses foreshadowing when Mrs. White jokes and says to wish for four arms Sergeant Major "with a look of alarm on his face," catches Mr. White's arm. 'If you must wish,' he said gruffly, 'wish for something sensible.'" Foreshadowing is also used when Sergeant Major is telling his feelings about the monkey’s paw. It states, “‘Pitch it on the fire again like a sensible man.’” Here he is warning Me. White of the consequences if he makes a wish. From this dialogue I readers can infer that something bad is going to happen.

"Batter My Heart" How does the poet use strong verbs to create rhythm and develop the meaning of the poem? Cite specific example
kipiarov [429]
I'm not gonna write out 100 words, but I did find
-Alliteration in one-syllable words such as "break, blow, burn" creates a kind of beat and rhythm, and emphasises the meaning of those words
-There's definitely a lot of "me" in the sonnet, and the line "your viceroy in me, me should defend" uses repetition in "me" to emphasise it of course but also provides a good flow into the next line
