In this excerpt from the Atlantic Charter of August 1941, which two lines show that the Allies envisioned a world where nations

would not forcibly invade and rule other nations? Their countries seek no aggrandisement, territorial or other. They desire to see no territorial changes that do not accord with the freely expressed wishes of the peoples concerned. They respect the right of all peoples to choose the form of Government under which they will live; and they wish to see sovereign rights and self-government restored to those who have been forcibly deprived of them. They will endeavour with due respect for their existing obligations, to further enjoyment by all States, great or small, victor or vanquished, of access, on equal terms, to the trade and to the raw materials of the world which are needed for their economic prosperity. They desire to bring about the fullest collaboration between all nations in the economic field, with the object of securing for all improved labour standards, economic advancement, and social security.

Which situation best illustrates an effect of the law of demand?
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

The correct answer is D. The situation that best illustrates an effect of the law of demand is that a theater sells more popcorn after it lowers the price of popcorn.

Explanation:

The law of supply and demand is the fundamental pillar of capitalist economic theory. This theory establishes that the demand for a good or service will be determined by its price, while the higher the price, the more restrictive its access will be and therefore the lower its demand; while on the contrary, the lower the price, the higher the demand, as it will be more accessible. Therefore, the fact that the theater lowers the price of its popcorn and consequently increases its sales is a clear example of the operation of this law.

ANEK [815]

Answer:

Option A, The colonists enjoyed religious freedom, is the right answer.

Explanation:

The Middle Colonies were a part of the Thirteen British Colonies in America. The province was initially settled by Europeans but following the surrender of Fort Amsterdam, it became a proprietary colony of the British. In the year 1665, a document for religious freedom called "The Concession and Agreement" was produced to attract settlers. Since religion was one of the very sensitive issues during the time, people who were seeking religious freedom moved to such colonies. As a result, the people of New Jersey consisted of Protestant and Catholic faiths.

Analyze this photo of child workers, taken by Lewis Hine in 1909. Explain how this photograph would have been influential in end
kodGreya [7K]
His photos explicitly give the idea of how child labor has been going on during those years. It tells a lot of things experienced by children, also, it was reinforced with captions created with the help of interviews by the children themselves. It gave ideas of how these children experienced different kinds of abuse.

The photos were gathered as basis and evidence to create protection for children. Thus in 1916, Congress passed the Keating-Owens Act because of these findings which proposed better condition and child protection on labor. However, this did not push through until the New Deal came and reforms were set.
