1) Etching is an printmaking process where lines are incised using acid into a metal plate to hold the ink, the printmaker scratches the material exposing the metal beneath, this is similar to drawing since they involve incision to hold ink.
2) With linocut there are two problem when printmaking, linoleum isn't very smooth, therefor some tones are held in white spaces. Also, the gouge marks are too wide to hold ink
