The speaker in "The Courage My Mother Had", had a strong relationship with her mother. One way this is shown is the title itself. And also the whole poem the speaker is talking about how she misses her mother and how great and courageous she was. If the speaker and their mother were not close and did not have a strong bond then the speaker probably never would have written this poem.

Read the sentences and answer the question that follows. Chinese historians have tended to view history as a series of repeating
vazorg [7]

Answer:

The answer is B. Incorreclty.

Explanation:

Unlikely cannot be possible amon the other as it is an adjective, and here we need an adverb, like the rest, so option "d" isn't possible. Ideally means perfectly or according to an ideal so this sounds rather strange according to this context. Succinctly means clearly or briefly and well, we cannot "briefly assume" we either assume or not, as a whole. And finally the divergence or in other words, difference, led the Western Historians to incorrectly assume something from the others.

Decide whether each quotation is an example of direct or indirect characterization. “How horrible it would be . . . if she were
Vesna [10]
“How horrible it would be . . . if she were condemned to be the plain, shy Millicent of a few years back.” - Direct characterization. The speaker explicitly says that Milicent now isn't plain and shy, and that would be a condemnation to her.

“Betsy Johnson, the vivacious blonde secretary of the sorority” - Direct characterization. We can see Betsy and we get some information about her character (vivacious).

“Walking beside Louise on the way to the drugstore, Millicent felt a surge of pride.” - Indirect characterization. The speaker doesn't say that Milicent is this or that kind of person. He/she just puts her in a context, commenting on her current feelings and thus allowing the reader to make a vague conclusion about her character.

“Bev was suddenly there in the doorway. ‘Wipe that smile off your face,’ she commanded.” - Indirect characterization. Again, the speaker here describes this character's action, rather than features and character traits.

Vika [28.1K]
Translated version:

I’m from Messaline. Sebastian was my father’s name, and my brother was named Sebastian too. He was dressed just like you are when he drowned. If ghosts can take on someone’s body and clothes, you must be a spirit who’s come to frighten us.
