Read the passage from chapter 2 of Animal Farm. Some hams hanging in the kitchen were taken out for burial, and the barrel of be

er in the scullery was stove in with a kick from Boxer's hoof, otherwise nothing in the house was touched. A unanimous resolution was passed on the spot that the farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. All were agreed that no animal must ever live there. The animals had their breakfast, and then Snowball and Napoleon called them together again. "Comrades,” said Snowball, "it is half-past six and we have a long day before us. Today we begin the hay harvest.” Which quotation from this passage is an example of foreshadowing? “Some hams hanging in the kitchen were taken out for burial, and the barrel of beer in the scullery was stove in.” “The farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. All were agreed that no animal must ever live there.” “The animals had their breakfast, and then Snowball and Napoleon called them together again.” “‘Comrades,’ said Snowball, ‘it is half-past six. . . . Today we begin the hay harvest.’”

The quotation that is an example of foreshadowing is “The farmhouse should be preserved as a museum. All were agreed that no animal must ever live there”.

Foreshadowing is a literary device that the writer uses to give a hint of what is going to happen later in the story. In this case, the fact that “no animal must ever live there” gives the reader a clue that, at some point, this situation is going to change. Towards the end of the story, the reader learn that Napoleon and the other pigs finish living in the farmhouse that they had prohibited the other animals to live in.

The line which is an irregular line of blank verse is the first one - “He only says, ‘Good fences make good neighbours.’”
A blank verse is a type of a line that consists of 10 syllables, where each second syllable is stressed ( = iambic pentameter that Shakespeare always used). The second, third, and fourth line are all good examples of blank verse, whereas the first line has 11, instead of 10 syllables.
