Since the extraordinary economic revolution that took place in North America in the final decades of the nineteenth century and the first of the twentieth century, various measures have been applied in the United States, which we rightly call populists. These have, in general, had a wide acceptance of the population, but - and this is very important - their results have not always been good. And, in some cases, they have had very damaging effects.

Why was HELIOCENTRISM so radical from a<br> religious perspective?
Paha777 [63]
Heliocentrism was the initial breakthrough in the Scientific Revolution which came from Polish mathematician and astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. His essential argument was that “at the middle of all things lies the sun” and that the earth, like the other planets, revolves around it. Thus, the reason why this theory was so radical from religious perspective was the fact that earth was no longer unique or at the obvious center of God’s attention. This challenged the previous understanding of the Catholic Church that the attention of the entire universe was centered on the earth and its human inhabitants, among whom God’s plan for salvation unfolded.

P.S. I hope this helped as I just read about this in ‘Ways of the World’ by Robert W. Strayer for AP World History :)

Which statement best explains how the Scientific Revolution changed ways of thinking?
umka21 [38]

Answer:

B. The scientific revolution caused people to question their religious beliefs.

Explanation:

The scientific revolution brought upon the ideas of natural selection as well as adaptation. This means that animals and species adapt to survive, which is what allowed humans to survive and adapt. This at the time went against what people thought, which was that we only exist due to God creating us rather than humans adapting over time.
