I will write about my favorite sport, soccer, I hope that it works as a model for you.

"In this short essay, we are going to discuss why soccer is mu favorite sport.

Basically a game of soccer has 2 teams playing against each other, each team has 11 players and others for substitution, the aim is to score goals by putting the ball within the opponent's nets, the goal.

The game is challenging as players cannot use their hands to conduce the ball, only the goalkeeper within his area can do so. If a player receives the ball and he is located before only one player before reaching the goal the move is cancelled as offside, so teams have to plan how to pass the ball and the right moment to run towards the goal.

Sometimes the game can get violent because of the full concact players have, if  something illegal happens, a player may get a yellow card, if recurrent or something more violent happens the player gets a red card and is sent out of the game, there is no substitution for this player and the team has to play with fewer people.

In conclusion, the game is challenging and has a great deal of strategy and dynamics."

Which sentence uses sarcasm to make a funny point?
aalyn [17]

Answer:

<em>My car looks brand new with its rusted fender and dented doors.</em>

Explanation:

Sarcasm is when someone say something opposite to the actual scenario, to mock something just to make it funny in a delighted way of humor. <em>"My car is brand new"</em> is totally opposite to <em>"it's rusted fender and dented doors". </em>

Clearly his car is old, has rusted fender and dented doors which means  poorly managed, but he for the sake of laugh or to make it funny mentioned it a brand new car.

Read this excerpt from "We Wear the Mask" by Paul Laurence Dunbar and answer the question that follows:
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

In the poem "We Wear the Mask," Paul Laurence Dunbar voices his repressed anger and frustration toward American society. He repeats the title phrase three times in the poem, using the words mask and we to show <u>that people hide their true feelings behind a false expression.</u>

The first use of the phrase is matter-of-fact. In the second stanza, the statement is followed by a period, which shows resignation. However, at the end of the poem, Dunbar almost shouts the phrase defiantly. The mask seems to become something he wears proudly. Through this gradual emphasis on the phrase, Dunbar could be implying that the world should only be allowed to “see us, while/ We wear the mask.” This suggests something beyond merely dissembling for the sake of duplicity or dishonesty.

This mask that “grins and lies” is hiding the existence of excruciating misery and suffering. The speaker says, “We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries/ To thee from tortured souls arise
