There are 6 six essential elements of geography. The geography is known as a science that deals with the distribution, description,  and interaction of aspects like cultural, physical and biological.

Geography is not just mapping, in fact, geography does not just study physical aspects of the environment. There are six essential elements studied by the geography:

1 - The world in spatial terms:

  • Deals with the way we use geographic representations like maps.
  • Relates the spacial terms with people, places, and environments.
  • Deals with the spatial distribution of people around the earth's surface.

2 - Places and Regions:

  • It's related to the particular physical and human characteristics of the places, creating a relationship between the people and the environment, cultural and political aspects.

3 - Physical Systems:

  • It's more related to the spacial/physical distribution of the different ecosystems on the earth.

4 - Human systems:

  • It's related to human factors like distribution, migration, characteristics on the earth.
  • The characteristics of population conflicts,  economic patterns, and cultural aspects.

5 -  Environment and society:

  • It relates the human society characteristics to the environment, with information about how humans affect physical environments and the opposite.
  • The interaction between the society and the environmental resources distribution, uses and exploitation.

6 - Uses of geography:

  • Studies the physical environments changes in order to know about the past characteristics and how the environment will change in the future.

  • Some states have been formed because of the interest of other states, like the example of Kosovo in the Balkans.
