An object that has 100 joules of potential energy at the top of a ramp yields 100 joules of kinetic energy at the bottom of the

ramp. However, when an experiment is performed 100 joules of potential only yields 80 joules of kinetic at the bottom of the ramp. How is the energy lost? Does this violate the conservation of energy? A) This does violate the conservation of energy because 20 joules of energy are lost. B) This violates the conservation of energy because some energy is lost to its surroundings. C) The experiment must be flawed because there must be 100 joules of kinetic energy at the bottom. D) This does not violate the conservation of energy, because the other 20 joules are converted into heat.

Answer is D. This does not violate the conservation of energy, because the other 20 joules are converted into heat.

The 20 joules were converted because of friction; it can't just go into a vacuum.

European cities and contemporary Aztec cities most likely differed in which of the following ways?
Romashka [77]

Answer:

The answer is C.

Explanation:

Answer A and D talked about the size of the cities and according to the passage, it didn't mention about the size comparison between the Aztec cities and European cities. Answer B is not correct because it didn't mention about the people having diseases nor it didn't describe the cities as being dirty. Here's a clue to the question. "They then gave such an account of the magnificence and splendour of his court", "great strength of his metropolis",  "several causeways, they added, led to this city, which were intersected in various places, over which wooden bridges were built, under which canoes could pass; but, if they were removed, the space between every two sections became an island, and all entrance to the town was completely cut off",  "balconies were attached to each house, which were provided with a kind of breastwork, so that the inhabitants were able to defend themselves from the tops of the houses. Yet the whole town was well supplied with sweet water from the spring of Chapultepec, which lay about two miles from the town, whence the water was partly conveyed to the houses by means of pipes, partly in boats through the canals, and then retailed to the inhabitants.”  Based on the quotations, you can see that it said about how organized the Aztecs were in terms of civil infrastructure making C the correct answer. Remember the infrastructure involves design, analysis, and management of infrastructure supporting human activities, including, for example, electric power, oil and gas, water and wastewater, communications, transportation, and the collections of buildings that make up urban and rural communities.
