The statement that best explains why Shakespeare has Cassius use the word fawn rather than a synonym such as flatter to describe his actions is the A: Fawn is more negative, suggesting manipulation of another for personal gain. In the excerpt that this question is referring to, the shrewd Cassius is going to reveal some aspects of Brutus's personality, or of his behavior, that he cannot see, and he asks him to trust in him, unless he saw him flattering somebody and then slandering him on their back; in that case, Cassius concludes, Brutus could be suspicious of him. Shakespeare is using the word fawn in Cassius's speech in order to emphasize his manipulative and devious traits. The word does have a negative connotation, and it often implies disapproval of that person's actions.

ddd [48]

On their son's murder, George and Hazel's reactions are brief and Hazel due to her "low intelligence" hers is underwhelming. Due to George's handicap, he is unable to dwell on anything for so long. So, when he watches his son on television, by a loud sound in his head his recognition is blasted away. He went into the kitchen to get a can of beer after Harrison is shot. whereas, Hazel cries. she gets momentarily distressed about what happened. therefore, due to her "low" intelligence, she quickly forgets about what happened. and when inquired by her husband upon the reason of tear, she forgets stating “Something real sad on television.”

Hence, in such a Bergeron's society handicaps assure that no negative emotion distress them. Therefore, they feel a momentary pain upon Harrison is gunned down in front of them.

The rules of English are called conventions because they are determined by _____.
borishaifa [10]

Answer: The correct answer is A.

Explanation:

The word convention means the accepted way of doing things. This can be applied to the Engish language and its rules. The rules of English or conventions are a set of widely accepted standards or practice. For instance, in writing a narrative, we can find the convention of including characters, setting and a plot and in writing a letter there is a layout to follow. In both cases, people will know that they are reading a narrative or a letter because of the conventions included.
