Which three sentences in this excerpt from "Quality" by John Galsworthy show that the writer admired the boots that the boot mak

er had crafted?
That tenement had a certain quiet distinction; there was no sign upon its face that he made for any of the Royal Family—merely his own German name of Gessler Brothers; and in the window a few pairs of boots.

I remember that it always troubled me to account for those unvarying boots in the window, for he made only what was ordered

Besides, they were too beautiful—the pair of pumps, so inexpressibly slim, the patent leathers with cloth tops, making water come into one's mouth, the tall brown riding boots with marvellous sooty glow, as if, though new, they had been worn a hundred years.

Those pairs could only have been made by one who saw before him the Soul of Boot—so truly were they prototypes incarnating the very spirit of all foot-gear.

For to make boots—such boots as he made—seemed to me then, and still seems to me, mysterious and wonderful.
I remember well my shy remark, one day, while stretching out to him my youthful foot:

John Galsworthy , XX century,  puts the emphasis on the boot maker's efforts. The writer is against advertising since he believes in craft: hand made products.

In these sentences, the writer shows his admiration for the boot maker's boots:

  1. Besides,  they were too beautiful—the pair of pumps, so inexpressibly slim the patent leathers with cloth tops, making water come into one's mouth, the tall brown riding boots with marvellous sooty glow, as if, though new, they had been worn a hundred years.
  2. Those pairs could only have been made by one who saw before him the Soul of Boot—so truly were they prototypes incarnating the very spirit of all foot-gear.
  3. For to make boots—such boots as he made—seemed to me then, and still seems to me, mysterious and wonderful.

Mike went to the ATM to take out $20 for the movies. Later in the day, he transferred $36 to his checking account
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

The letter A represents where the amount of $20 should be written.

The letter D represents where the amount of $36 should be written.

The ending balance, E, is $154.85.

Mike withdrew $20 at an ATM, so A, which is in the "ATM Withdrawal Debit" box, is $20.

Mike later transferred $36 to his checking account. Transferring means moving away to another place, so that $36 is represented by D, which is in the "Transfer From Savings Deposit" box.

Now, Mike withdrew $20 (-20) and transferred in $36 (36). According to the balance from 3/16, he had $138.85. $138.85 - $20 + $36 = $154.85.

Hope this helped!

Which of these comments best illustrates the technique of drawing
drek231 [11]

"Yes, all those points are true about Shakespeare, but most of them  are true of other authors as well" (B) is the comment that best illustrates the technique of drawing  comparisons during a discussion.

In this discussion, people were apparently talking about Shakespeare and his work or his life. The speaker who delivered this comment brought up other authors into the conversation, inviting the other speakers to consider a comparison between Shakespeare and these authors. By doing so, the speaker is also giving his opinion on the comparison: he thinks Shakespeare and the other authors are alike in some aspects.
