Answer: The suspense in the story grows when Martin falls through the seat of the chair and becomes stuck. The reader fears for John since each new cat is bigger than the one before, and the reader is concerned that John won't be able to escape once Martin gets there. The situation seems more and more incorrigible for John, so it is hilarious when John breaks the suspense by making a funny comment and running away with a chair stuck to his rear.

Answer:

The suspense in "Better Wait Till Martin Comes" grows when Martin falls through the seat of the chair and becomes stuck. The reader fears for John since each new cat is larger than the last one, and the reader worries that John won't be able to escape once Martin arrives. The situation seems more and more hopeless for John, so it is hilarious when John breaks the suspense by making a funny comment and running away with a chair stuck to his rear.

How does the second passage develop Kaku’s idea that humans have become active choreographers of nature?
dybincka [34]

In the Michio Kaku's book, Visions, he states that we are continuing to rush ahead. To prove that, he says “In the past decade more scientific knowledge has been created than in all of human history.” Since we are so advance, we don't need to be observers "of the dance of Nature". We have moved “from being passive observers of Nature to being active choreographers of Nature.” We are no longer discovering, now we are creating. Conserning future predictions Kaku says to listen to "those who create it".
