Answer: B. Buoyancy

Explanation: The asthenosphere exerts a buoyant force that pushes up against the lithosphere, and this force resists gravity. The theory of isostasy refers to an equilibrium in buoyancy between the lithosphere and the asthenosphere.

Answer:

A. Ridge push from the asthenosphere is responsible for isostatic uplift.

Explanation:

Ridge push otherwise sliding plate or gravitational sliding force is a force that causes plate tectonics motion at the mid-ocean ridge. The movement pushes the old plate material back into the subduction zone or the asthenosphere.

The uplift is the process of slow rise of the land which result in formation of mountains, the isostatic uplift refers the rise of the crust.

The force, however, acts on the entire ocean plate and not only on the ridges due to gravitational force. It is called ridge push because earlier models of plate tectonics during simulations showed the up welling of the magma during spreading of the sea-floor at mid-oceans ridges which cause plate to diverge.

No thermocline exists in high-latitude regions because there is little temperature difference between the top and bottom of the
Klio2033 [76]

Answer:isothermal

Explanation:isothermal can be defined as a line on a map or chart of the earth's surface connecting points having the same temperature at a given time or the same mean temperature for a given period.

An isothermal process is a change of a system, in which the temperature remains constant: ΔT =0. ... In contrast, an adiabatic process is where a system exchanges no heat with its surroundings (Q = 0).
