The correct answer is A) while some groups have embraced religious radicalism others have become highly secular.

The statement that best summarizes two major effects of modernization on world religions is "while some groups have embraced religious radicalism others have become highly secular."

Secularization is one of the effects of modernization of religions and religious beliefs. People really separates the "blind" following of religious dogma and try to understand the essence of the teaching. Secularization means that people changed religious values for other nonreligious values. This means that religious hierarchy or leaders do not have the same influence they had in the past. People are thinking now in their own spirituality that in Church dogmas. On the other hand, some people are fundamentalists. This means that they are radical in the following of the religious precepts and are not flexible in their application. And that is dangerous because they are not tolerant.
