Which two statements, when read together, prove that Trudy is Calvins aunt?

English

Answer:

The two statements are B and C.

Explanation:

To be able to prove that Trudy is Calvin's aunt, we need to put together sentences that have enough information to explain who they are and how they are related.

Let's first see a combination that wouldn't work:

A. Michael has a son

C. Trudy is Michael's sister

From the sentences above we learn that Trudy is an aunt, since her brother Michael has a son. However, we do not know his son's name and cannot, therefore, prove it is Calvin.

The only combination that will provide all the necessary information is:

B. Michael is Calvin's father

C. Trudy is Michael's sister

Now it is easy to prove what we need. Trudy and Michael are brother and sister. Michael has a son named Calvin. Trudy is Michael's son aunt. Trudy is Calvin's aunt.

Answer:

B and C

Explanation:

When read together it says that Trudy is Micheal's sister and Micheal is Calvin's father meaning that Calvin is Trudy's nephew and Trudy is Calvin's aunt.

How does Crevecoeur contradict his own observations about America’s diversity and equality? Select all that apply.
Irina18 [472]
Crevecoeur contradicts his own observation about America's diversity and equality by giving an unflattering portrayal of German-American settlers (option A) and by giving descriptions of abject poverty and the wide gap between rich and poor (option D). But he tends to predict that society might triumph over barbarism and settlers would embrace civilization "making room for more industrious people".

what are three actions that kashyap argues brands should take to improve conditions for their workers
sveta [45]

This question is about the article "When Clothing Labels Are a Matter of Life or Death".

Answer:

Promote visibility, extinguish subcontracting, pressure from investors.

Explanation:

In the article Kashyap shows how the clothing and footwear manufacturing industries have been one of the biggest centers of disrespect for human rights, causing workers to work exhaustively, earning few wages and being subjected to inhospitable environments and with little security.

For Kashyap, there are three processes that can prevent this from happening and can improve the lives of these workers. These processes are the transparency of the companies that consume the products of these industries, showing how the entire production process is, the extinction of subcontracting, which subjects workers to inhuman conditions of employment and pressure from investors who can charge for better working conditions.

Anne Bradstreet was a Puritan who lived during Colonial America. Her poems reflected elements of her personal life. In this poem
schepotkina [342]

Your question is missing the options. I've found the complete question online. It is as follows:

Anne Bradstreet was a Puritan who lived during Colonial America. Her poems reflected elements of her personal life. In this poem, her house has burned and she has lost all of her possessions. Read the last two stanzas (lines 43-54). How do these lines reflect aspects of her Puritan beliefs?

A) She relies on her own work ethic to build her another house.

B) She is so distraught that she wishes she had died in the fire.

C) She knows that her permanent home is waiting for her in heaven.

D) She prays for an architect from town to come build her a new home.

Answer:

The correct answer is letter C) She knows that her permanent home is waiting for her in heaven.

Explanation:

In the last two stanzas of her poem "Verses upon the Burning of our House, July 10th, 1666", author Anne Bradstreet calls God the mighty Architect. She does not seem to repine over the house she has lost to the fire. Quite the contrary, she is faithful to the belief that her permanent home is the spiritual one waiting for her in heaven. That is a reflection of her Puritan beliefs. This world is nothing but a passageway for the next and most important one. She does not need to suffer over material losses because what truly matters is the spirit. As she says in the last line of the poem, "My hope and treasure lies above."

In about two hundred words, show what you understand about the literary devices used in the plot development of Things Fall Apar
Alexandra [31]

There are many literary devices used in the plot development of Things Fall Apart; let's remember that we call a literary device all those tools an author use to convey his/her ideas and points in a story.

One of the tools used by Achebe in this text is irony. One example of this is Okonkwo's suicide at the end. After saying he could survive everything, you don't expect him to do it.

Another literary device the author uses is foreshadowing. This happens when an event or action hits at a future event or action. This is used, for example, when Okonkwo falls into depression after being exiled to his motherland for killing a clansman and, at the end he commites suicide. This depression meant more for him that any other event and changed his destiny.

Symbolism is other used tool in this story when referred to a man's ability to grow yams. It is directly tied to his manhood and how others see him as a man. In this particular case, the yam is the major symbol of masculinity.
