Answer:

The Gilded Age was based on industrialization, especially on the development of heavy industry: factories, railways, coal mines. Steel production in the United States during this period exceeded total steel production in the UK, Germany, and France.

Inventors and scientists have contributed to the modernization of America. In 1882, Edison built the first power station in the United States. In 1894, the aggregated value of the industrial products of the United States exceeded the industrial production of England and Germany combined. In 1876, the Bell telephone was presented at the World Exhibition in Philadelphia, and the Chicago exhibition in 1892 approved the status of the United States - the first country in terms of technique.

Why do cowboys have so much trouble with math answer key 3.16?
dexar [7]

Cowboys had trouble with math answers because they were not studious people. Most of them did not even know how to read. Some of them were mercenaries or thieves, others live on a farm and all they did was work on the field and feed the animals, but did not go to school because they started to work on the farm when they were kids so all they knew was how to use tools, how to work the land and how to treat of the animals, and that was all. They had trouble because they did not work out their minds by readind books or writting.

What generalization can you make about numbers and causes of settlers death in 1609?
serg [7]

When English settlers came to Jamestown, the living conditions were very poor.  By the time 1609 had come around, they had faced a harsh winter called "the starving time".

Because the winter was so harsh, people were getting sick and dying off at a very fast rate.  Only about 1/3 of the settlers survived that winter, and it was rumored that the starving time was so bad that the settlers turned to eating some of the animals, such as the dogs to stay alive.

Because the people were eventually reinforced with supplies and more settlers, the colony of Jamestown was able to persevere and keep going considering they lost a significant amount of their original settlers.  The tobacco crop and more settlers coming on ships in the next few years is what was able to keep Jamestown thriving.

This helped make it the first permanent settlement in North America, unlike the Lost Colony of Roanoke, Virginia, where all the settlers had vanished in the late 1500s.
