Mealtime and courses in Spain:

A Spanish person starts his or hers day off with a desayuno, what we would call breakfast. Usually, they would only drink a cup of coffee con leche. Sometimes, they would eat some pastry, a croissant or something similar. A '' traditional '' breakfast would be sugar-coated churros with hot chocolate.

When it comes to lunch time, Spanish people have their comida somewhere between two and four pm. It's richer and larger than their dinner. A typical Spanish lunch consists of many courses. Firstly, they would eat something light -- like soup or salad. The second course would be anything that involves any kind of poultry, red meat or fish. They also have desserts on the regular basis, like churros, a piece of cake or any seasonal fruit.

When it comes to dinner time, la cena, it's much lighter being compared to the lunch. They have dinner pretty late, usually around 9pm and 11 pm. They would have a bowl of salad, a light sandwich or tapas ( a selection of different cheeses and dried meat that is usually served with drinks at any local bar ).

Mealtime and courses in the States:

American people have three meals each day. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Breakfast is always some time between 7 and 8 am. Lunch takes place some time between 11 am and 12 pm. The dinner is eaten pretty much early compared to the European habits, around 6 and 8 pm.

They really love brunching. Brunch is a meal that's eaten after breakfast, before lunch. People usually go for brunches on Sundays.

Young students love to grab bites that they call '' study snack '' and it's usually around 10 and 11 pm. For American people, breakfast and lunch are way lighter than dinner, as they consider it the main meal of the day.

Breakfast usually contains cereal, milk, orange juice, peanut butter and jelly on the toasted bread, etc. That would be on the sweeter side. When it comes to typical savory meal, it would be scrambled eggs or an omelette with bacon or ham.

The put more effort and focus on the lunch. Lunches would consist of a few courses and dessert would make the third. The same is for dinner.

Types of food in Spain:

The most famous dish in Spain is paella. Paella is a dish that contains a lot of white rice, shrimps, chicken thighs, olive oil, garlic, fresh parsley, and a variety of different vegetables and spices.

Some of other famous dishes -- gazpacho ( cold tomato soup ), tortilla de patatas ( Spanish omelette ), croquetas, rabo de toro ( ox tail, beef, vegetables, olive oil, red wine and broth ), etc.

Olive oil and garlic is a very famous base for any meal in Spain and they treasure them deeply.

Types of food in the States:

Some of the famous dishes in the USA would be:

apple pie, brownies, burgers, bagels, Texas barbecue, deep-dish pizza ( Chicago style dough, very thick and full ) turkey for Christmas and Thanksgiving, etc.

The most famous cuisine in USA would be Chinese food, Mexican food and Italian food. They're followed by Greek, French, Thai, Spanish and Indian, as there are many foreigners in the States.

Question 1 with 1 blank La profesora de danza (convencer) a los mejores bailarines de que participaran. Question 2 with 1 blank
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

1. Convenció.

2. Escribiste.

3. Animaron.

4. Invitamos.

5. Publicaste.

6. Dieron.

7. Presentamos.

8. Hizo.

Explanation: Just to elaborate a little on the answer, it can be added that in this passage they are asking you to use the past tense of the verb, since at least some of the sentences are describing events for the past. Just to provide a few examples, in sentence 1 it says that the dance teacher convinced the best dancers to participate (the sentence in Spanish does not use the infinitive, but the Imperfect Subjuntive). In sentence 2 it says that the person did not write in the newspaper that the organising commitee was incompetent. The other sentences do not reveal the tense, but since I do not have more information about your assignment, I have used the past tense—specifically the "Pretérito Perfecto Simple" in Spanish—in all of them.
