In the District of Columbia versus Heller, the Supreme Court ruled that Columbia’s District court “gun control la”w was unconstitutional. The ruling was an act of Federalism as unconstitutional law enacted by one court was stated null by the higher court that shows the benefit of having a Federal administration.

Further Explanations:

Heller versus District of Columbia was a momentous case that held the “Second Amendment” that was defending individuals from having guns despite being associated with any military services. The ruling granted individuals retaining arms for self-defense and lawful purpose. It also indicated that the right to endure arms was not limitless and its possession will be synchronized. It was the first occurrence when the “Supreme Court” was to decide whether the “Second Amendment” is shielding the rights or not.

The case got devised in the suit trailed in the “District law court” of the nation in 2003 in the case “Parker versus District of Columbia” filed against the “Firearms Control Regulation act “of 1975. The act prohibited the handling of unauthorized guns and deadly weapons. The Supreme Court overheard its oral argument on 18th March 2008 and gave the ruling two months later on 26 July endorsing the individual rights.

Even though im not writing the 2 paragraphs let me give you info about one of the cases: Gibbons vs. Ogden: Federally issued permit vs. State (NY) issued permit to navigate waterways around New York. Marshall court re-emphasized Article VI (Supremacy) stating that federal law trumps state and this decision further emphasized the Commerce Clause stating that commerce was not defined solely as the buying and selling of goods, but the transportation thereof as well. Establishing that only the national Congress had the ability to regulate interstate trade, further strengthening the federal government over the states. This case as many affect the nature of federalism regarding its power, rights and roles.

In two or three paragraphs, compare and contrast the points of view of Wilson, Clemenceau, and Lloyd George at the Paris Peace C
Agata [3.3K]

Here is what i wrote for my essay:

World War I was settled by the victors at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. The “Big Four,” who made all the major decisions, were President Woodrow Wilson of the United States, Prime Minister David Lloyd George of Great Britain, George Clemenceau of France, and of least importance, Italian Prime Minister Vittorio Orlando. Each major power had its own agenda coming to the Conference and not every aim was represented in the final treaties.

Wilson, Clemenceau, and Lloyd George all had different points of view at the Paris Peace Conference. For instance, lloyd George of Britain wanted to build a postwar Britain "fit for heroes". British aims at the conference were focused on securing France, settling territorial disputes, and maintaining their colonial holdings. Clemenceau of France wanted to weaken Germany so it could never threaten France. Having witnessed two German attacks on French soil in the last 40 years, France’s main concern was to ensure Germany would not be able to attack them again, so they pushed to weaken Germany militarily, strategically, and economically. Wilson of the U.S. wanted "peace without victory" with his fourteen points. The Americans’ vision was set out in Wilson’s Fourteen Points, which emphasized free trade, self-determination, and the founding of a League of Nations to support territorial and political independence of member nations.
