A manufacturer of banana chips would like to know whether its bag filling machine works correctly at the 449 gram setting. It is

believed that the machine is underfilling the bags. A 23 bag sample had a mean of 448 grams with a standard deviation of 20. A level of significance of 0.05 will be used. Assume the population distribution is approximately normal. Determine the decision rule for rejecting the null hypothesis. Round your answer to three decimal places.

Answer:

We accetp  H₀

Step-by-step explanation:

Information:

Normal distribution

Population mean      =   μ₀  = 449

Population standard deviation  σ   unknown

Sample size   n  =  23        n < 30    we use t-student test

so   n  =  23    degree of fredom   df = n  - 1  df  = 23- 1   df = 22

Sample mean    μ =  448

Sample standard deviation   s  =  20

Significance level  α  =  0,05

1.-Hypothesis Test

Null hypothesis                               H₀     μ₀  =  449

Alternative hypothesis                    Hₐ     μ₀  ≠  449

Problem statement ask for determine decision rule for rejecting the null hypothesis. For rejecting the null hypothesis we have to  get an statistic parameter wich implies  that μ is bigger or smaller than μ₀

2.-Significance level   α  =  0,05  ;  as we have a two tail test

α/2    =  0,025

Then from t - student table for  df =  22   and 0,025 (two tail-test)

t(c)  =  ±  2.074

3.- Compute  t(s)

t(s)   =  (  μ  -  μ₀ )  /  s /√n

plugging in values

t(s)   =  (448  -  449) /  20 /√23    ⇒   t(s)   =  -  1*√23 /20

t(s)   =  - 0.2398

4.-Compare t(c)   and  t(s)

t(s)  <  t(c)         - 0.2398  <  - 2.074

Therefore  t(s)  in inside acceptance region.  We accept  H₀

Nimisha wants to draw a wheel like the one shown. Each shaded part of the wheel should be one-third of each unshaded part. What
ivolga24 [154]

Answer:

Each shade has a 22.5 degree angle from the middle

Each unshaded has a 67.5 degree angle from the middle.

Step-by-step explanation:

You can solve this by making each unshaded part equal to x and each shaded part equal 1/3x it is a circle so it has to equal 360 so you end up with:

x + 1/3x + x + 1/3x + x + 1/3x + x + 1/3x = 360

Combine Like terms:

16/3x = 360

Multiply both sides by the opposite:

(3/16) (16/3x) = (360) (3/16)

x=135/2 or x=67.5

Then you can plug 67.5 in for x:

1/3x ---> 1/3(67.5) = 22.5

Johana works in the crime lab at the New York City Police Department. A woman’s shoe was found at a crime scene. Johana measures
madam [21]

Answer:

(7, 64.33)

Step-by-step explanation:

For a woman suspect whose shoe size was found at the crime scene, the equation which can be used to predict the estimated height is given as:

y=1.19x+56,$ where:\\x = woman's shoe size\\ y= the estimated likely height of the woman in inches.

(a)Let x=7

Then:  y =1.19(7)+56=64.33

An ordered pair that is a solution to the function is (7, 64.33)

(b) The estimated height of a woman who is of shoe size 7 is 64,33 inches.

Use the following compound interest formula to complete the problem.
alexdok [17]

Card P's balance increased by $3.43 more than Card Q's balance. The accumulated total on Card P over the 4 years is $1080.70 and the accumulated total of Card Q is $1,206.28. Based on the principal outlay however, Card P would have netted a higher interest over Card Q when the principal is subtracted from the accumulated value. (For eg. Card P accumulated value $1080.70 less Principal $726.19 equals $354.51).The interests over the 4 years period would be $354.51 and $351.08 respectively, hence Card P having an increase in balance of $3.43 over Card Q.
