Answer:

15

Explanation:

Using the Exponential smoothing model below:-

Ft= Ft-1 + α (At-1 – Ft-1)

Where,

Ft= new forecast

Ft-1= previous period forecast

At-1= previous period actual demand

α =?     Ft-1=66    At-1=70        Ft= 66.6

Ft = 66 + α (70-66)

   66.6 = 66+ 4* α

   (66.6-66)= 4* α

   α = 0.6/4

     α = 0.15

Thus, alpha value will be 0.15 for simple exponential smoothing.

Find attached complete question:

common stock dividends is $38,960

preferred stock dividends is $5,040

Explanation:

Going by the complete question,preferred stock dividends is computed thus:

preferred stock dividends=number of shares*par value*dividend rate

number of shares is 7000 (issued and outstanding)

par value of share is $12

dividend rate is 6%

preferred stock dividend=7000*$12*6%=$5040

The preferred stockholders would receive $5040 dividends while the remainder of dividends goes to common stockholders as shown below

Total dividends                              $44,000

preferred stock dividends             ($5040)

common stock dividends              $38,960

Sommer, Inc., is considering a project that will result in initial aftertax cash savings of $1.75 million at the end of the firs
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

The question is: "What is the maximum initial cost the company would be willing to pay for the project?"

The maximum initial investment cost the company would be willing to pay for the project is $18,817,204.

Explanation:

We have D/E = 0.8 => D/ (D+E) = 4/9; E/(D+E) = 5/9.

WACC of the firm = 4/9 x 4.3% + 5/9 x 11.5% = 8.3%.

Adjustment for cost capital due to higher risk of the project: 8.3% + 3% = 11.3%.

=> Maximum initial investment cost is equal to the net present value of the cash saving the project brings about discounting at project's cost of capital, calculated as:

1,750,000/ (11.3% - 2%) = $18,817,204.

Thus, the Maximum initial investment cost is $18,817,204.

To purchase a used automobile, you borrow $10,000 from Loan Shark Enterprises. They tell you the interest rate is 1% per month f
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

The actual APR (annual percentage rate) that you are paying is 12.69%.

Explanation:

The actual annual percentage rate (APR) can be calculated using the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) formula as

follows:

APR = (((Fees + Interest accrued) / Principal / n) * Number of months in a year) * 100 ……………… (1)

Where;

APR = ?

Fees = Credit investigation charged = $200

Principal = Amount borrowed = $10,000

Total accrued amount = Principal * (1 + (Monthly interest rate * Number of months of loan tenure)) = $10,000 * (1 + (1% * 35)) = $13,500

Interest accrued = Total accrued amount - Principal = $13,500 - $10,000 =$3,500

n = Number of months of loan term = 35

Number of months in a year = 12

Substituting the values into equation (1), we have:

APR = (((200 + 3500) / 10000 / 35) * 12) * 100

APR = 12.69%

Therefore, the actual APR (annual percentage rate) that you are paying is 12.69%.

A one-time error in the application of the lower of cost or market/net realizable value (LCM/NRV) rule in the current period dis
Kipish [7]

Answer:

A one-time error in the application of the lower of cost or market/net realizable value (LCM/NRV) rule in the current period distorts financial results for the current accounting period:

a. only.

Explanation:

The lower of cost or market (LCM/NRV) method states that when valuing a company's inventory use the historical cost or the market value, whichever is lower.  The historical cost refers to the cost at which the inventory was purchased.  The market value is the current price.  The implication is that while the historical cost remains static, the market value shifts over time.

Therefore, if there is a one-time error made in the use of the LCM/NRV rule, it only affects the current period.  The next accounting period will restart the process of comparing the historical costs with the market value, thus obviating the need to repeat the error.
