Select all statements that correctly describe hemoglobin and myoglobin structure. a.The heme prosthetic group is entirely buried

within myoglobin. b.Both hemoglobin and myoglobin contain a prosthetic group called heme, which contains a central iron ( Fe ) atom. d.Each hemoglobin molecule can bind four oxygen molecules; each myoglobin can bind one oxygen molecule. d.Molecular oxygen binds irreversibly to the Fe ( II ) atom in heme. Hemoglobin and myoglobin are heterotetramers. e.Each iron atom can form six coordination bonds. f.One of these bonds is formed between iron and oxygen. g.By itself, heme is not a good oxygen carrier. It must be part of a larger protein to prevent oxidation of the iron.

Answer:

B, G , E, F.

Explanation:

Hemoglobin is known to be a tetrameric hemeprotein, which is found in the erythrocytes where it binds with oxygen, and then the bound oxygen is transported to parts of the body.

Myoglobin is a monomeric protein that is found in the muscle tissue. Its function is that, it serves as intracellular storage site for oxygen.

It should be understood that, both hemoglobin and myoglobin are hemeproteins with physiological importance of having the ability of binding molecular oxygen.

In this case, it is also known that, the two, that is hemoglobin and myoglobin have a prosthetic group called heme, which is described or known to be a tightly bond, specifically a non-polypeptide unit which is required for biological function of some protein.

Water that contains 2 mg oxygen per liter or less is termed hypoxic, since at that concentration many aquatic aerobic organisms
GaryK [48]
Global and local climate change also makes marine ecosystems more vulnerable to lower oxygen levels (hypoxia). Aquatic organisms cannot survive without the presence of dissolved oxygen in the water.
When the climate is warmer, the surface water warms up more quickly and its density becomes lower than that of the underlying waters. However, it is the mixture of waters of different depths that helps to oxygenate the deeper waters. If the surface water is warmer and less dense, it mixes less well with the more dense bottom waters.  As a result, the oxygen content will be lower in some places (deeper places for example).
At oxygen levels below 30%, species that do not tolerate hypoxic conditions must migrate to other geographic areas. If they can not migrate, their survival may be threatened.
