The Camino Real Landfill was required to install a plastic liner to prevent leachate from migrating into the groundwater. The fi

ll area was 50,000 m2 and the installed liner cost was $8 per m2. In order to recover the investment, the owner charges to unload at the rates of $10 per pickup, $25 per dump truck, and $70 per compactor truck load. The fill area is adequate for 4 years. If the annual trafic is estimated to be 2500 pickup loads, 650 dump-truck loads, and 1200 compactor-truck loads, what rate of return will the landfill owner make on the investment? The rate of return that will be made by the landfill owner is ____% per year.

Answer:

25.25%

Explanation:

With a fill area of 50,000m^{2}, and an installed liner cost of $8, the total cost of installation = 50,000 * 8 = $400,000.

Annual average annual cost = $400,000/4 = $100,000 (since the fill area is adequate for 4 years).

Estimated annual revenue = P_{p}* V_{p} +P_{d}* V_{d}+P_{c}* V_{c}

(P = Price, V = Value, p = Pick Up, d = Dump Truck, c = Compactor Truck)

= (10*2,500) + (25*650) + (70*1,200)

= $125,250.

Therefore, annual rate of return = \frac{125,250}{100,000} - 1 = 25.25%.

Ray Jene earns $900 a week at a Publix supermarket. Ray's payroll deductions are 28%. What is Ray's take-home pay?
kaheart [24]
If Ray earns $900 a week and deductions are 28% Ray's take home pay is:
$648 a week

If we assume that the deductions of 28% are taken out of the $900 weekly we will multiply 900 by 0.28 = 252. Then subtract 252 which is the deduction amount from the 900 and we end up with take home pay of $648.

noname [10]

Answer:

$9,000

Explanation:

The computation of the  amount of the discount on the bonds at issuance is shown below:

= Par value of the bond - issued price of the bond

= $400,000 - $391,000

= $9,000

By deducting the issued price of the bond from the par value of the bond we can get the discount amount on issuance of the bond and the same is applied above

Which of the following environments will be LEAST conducive to fraud? a. Perceived inequalities in the organization and inadequa
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

The answer is C. Proactive management

Explanation:

Proactive management looks ahead. They are not reactive. They envisage problems before it occurs. They institute or set up internal controls which will not be conducive to fraud. Internal controls like segregation of duty, dual control, authorization etc.

But in an organization where perceived inequalities are rife, employees will tend to play fast because they are not satisfied.

Also, when unreasonable budget are set by the management, employees tend to do all things possible to achieve this budget so as to keep their job. This breeds the thought of fraud.

High employee turnover too can lead to fraud because staffs know they wont stay too long.
