In the sentence "Golly, I didn't think you were so close to completing you master's thesis!", the word ______________ is the int
marissa [1.9K]

Answer:

"Golly" is the correct answer.

Explanation:

An interjection can also be named "an exclamation." It is a way to express oneself to display emotions. These words usually end with exclamation marks when they stand alone. If the word "Golly" was a so-called, "one word sentence," then it would end with an exclamation, particularly of surprise.

Hope this helps. :)

The orchard walls are high and hard to climb, And the place death, considering who thou art, If any of my kinsmen find thee here
Verizon [17]

<em>The orchard walls are high and hard to climb, And the place death, considering who thou art, If </em><em>any</em><em> of my kinsmen find thee here.</em>

<em>Any</em> is the indefinite pronoun because it means something like "it does not matter who of my kinsmen as long as the person is one of my kinsmen" although Present Day English demands agreement as third person singular (<em>if any of you agree</em><em>s</em>) in the passage the agreement is third person plural because from the point of view of meaning [<em>any of my kinsmen</em>] can be replaced as <em>they</em>  and the verb <em>find</em> agrees with this plural idea.

Present Day British English has this kind of agreement called collective noun which grammatically can function like the pronoun <em>they</em>, for example as in <em>the committee </em><em>have</em><em> started the meeting</em>). The word <em>police</em> is another example of collective noun by taking third person plural agreement as in the sentence <em>The police </em><em>have </em><em>arrived</em>.

Should everyone speak english? Rough draft 100 words
charle [14.2K]
Short answer: No.

Long answer:

We shouldn't force everyone to speak english, because while it is easier for people to communicate if they all speak the same language, there will still be some problems. Language allows us to have another way to differentiate between people groups, and is a part of the culture of each people group. Language in itself, because of it's diversity, can show what each culture believes in, what the set rules are, as well as how they interact, and using language, what they can build. Language also serves as a diversify of production of items. If everybody spoke the same language, while there will be technology advancement, we will not be able to see how different groups (language groups specifically) handle the same problems. While it is good to be at least bilingual, i believe that not everyone should speak english.
