Oduvanchick [21]

Answer:

In her book "“I Know Why the Caged Bird Cannot Read”, literature scholar Francine Prose stated her reservations regarding the current state of Literature education to students. I agree to Prose statement that students are assigned text according to their proficiency level and teachers do not try to expand their realm in introducing students with high quality literature.

Explanation:

She is referring to high school students is these lines and states that they are assigned low quality text for reading. This literature damages their quality to grow their literary foundation and they did not become appreciators of good literature as adults.

How might a movie trailer and an essay introduction be similar? What are the purposes of both and what do they do for the viewer
WINSTONCH [101]

Answer:

Trailers and essay introductions can be very, very similar. Essay introductions just give a very brief overview of what the essay will be about, just like how trailers give a little insight as to what the movie will be about. Neither essay introductions nor movie trailers give direct facts and information about either the essay topic or whole plot of the movie. The purpose it to mainly just "hook" the reader/viewer and make them want to either read the essay or watch the movie just based on the introduction or trailer.

Hope this helps.

Marizza181 [45]

One of the aspects of life that Jim Crow laws regulated was the fact that they forbade the "promotion of equality."

In this context, such promotion referred to the printing, publishing, or claiming that social equality was a desirable goal, or that intermarriage should be allowed. This was punished as a misdemeanor and required the payment of a hefty fine.
