The poem "The Cloud" by Percy Bysshe Shelley employs an extended metaphor, as it compares a cloud to life throughout the whole poem.
The cloud is meant to stand for the cycle of nature, or the unending cycle of life. Through the many cycles and transformations that the cloud endures, Shelley wants to represent the never ending cycle of birth, death and rebirth that all beings on Earth go through. The poem, therefore, focuses on the mutability of nature as the only constant in the physical world. Moreover, this allows the author to also employ the cloud as a symbol of the many changes that humans undergo throughout their lives.

Seperate is the error. It is spelled incorrectly. The second e should be an a. The correct spelling for the word is separate. There are no other errors in the sentence as all of the other words are spelled correctly. Since this is probably a sign, usually end punctuation is not included. This poem written by Diane Glancy, reflects her Native American heritage. Her father, a Cherokee man is the main character for the poem. She portrays the conflict between his native american identity and the westernized world in which he lives. The author implies that despite living disconnected from his traditions and working packing meat, her father remains Cherokee.
The author's feelings towards her father seem to be of love, respect and sadness. I find the poem nostalgic, and there seems to be a sense of being out of place in this world.
The conflict between her parents seems to fit the idea of the poem. Her father brings home hide and horns from work (representing his heritage), and her (western) mother rejects this. The author is just an observer in this poem.
The hide and horns are important, since some native americans relied heavily on the hide, meat and everything else provided by buffalos, which is also a theme in the poem.
