Aaron Jones bought a home with 10% interest for 30 years. He was paying $8.78 monthly per thousand on his first loan. At the end

of the mortgage he owes the bank $55,000. Interest then went up tp 12.25%, the bank can renew the mortgage at this new rate. Jim now pays $10.48 monthly per thousand on this loan. What is the percent of increase in his new monthly payment?

Answer:

The % increase in Jim's monthly payment = 19.36%

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount Jim was paying monthly on the first loan = $8.78

The amount he now pays monthly = $10.48

The increase in Jim's payment = $10.48 - $8.78

The increase in Jim's monthly payment = $1.7

The % increase in Jim's monthly payment = 1.7/8.78 * 100%

The % increase in Jim's monthly payment = 19.36%

The time between failures for an electrical appliance is exponentially distributed with a mean of 25 months. What is the probabi
katrin [286]

Answer:

The probability that the next failure will not occur before 30 months have elapsed is 0.0454

Step-by-step explanation:

Using Poisson distribution  where

t= number of units of time

x= number of occurrences in t units of time

λ= average number of occurrences per unit of time

P(x;λt) = e raise to power (-λt)  multiplied by λtˣ divided by x!

here λt = 25

x= 30

P(x= 30) = 25³⁰e⁻²⁵/ 30!

P (x= 30) = 8.67 E41 * 1.3887 E-11/30!    (where E= exponent)

P (x=30) = 1.204 E31/30!

Solving it with a statistical calculator would give

P (x=30) = 0.0454

The probability that the next failure will not occur before 30 months have elapsed is 0.0454

What other points are on the line of direct variation through (5, 12)? Check all that apply. (0, 0) (2.5, 6) (3, 10) (7.5, 18) (
aalyn [17]

we know that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent a direct variation if it can be expressed in the form y/x=k or y=kx

in this problem we have

the point (5,12) is on the line of direct variation

so

Find the constant of proportionality k

y/x=k-------> substitute ------> k=12/5

the equation is

y=\frac{12}{5}x

Remember that

If a point is on the line of direct variation

then

the point must satisfy the equation of direct variation

we're proceeding to verify each point

<u>case A)</u> point (0,0)

x=0\ y=0

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

0=\frac{12}{5}*0

0=0 -------> is true

therefore

the point (0,0) is on the line of direct variation

<u>case B)</u> point (2.5,6)

x=2.5\ y=6

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

6=\frac{12}{5}*2.5

6=6 -------> is true

therefore

the point (2.5,6) is on the line of direct variation

<u>case C)</u> point (3,10)

x=3\ y=10

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

10=\frac{12}{5}*3

10=7.2 -------> is not  true

therefore

the point (3,10) is not on the line of direct variation

<u>case D)</u> point (7.5,18)

x=7.5\ y=18

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

18=\frac{12}{5}*7.5

18=18 -------> is true

therefore

the point (7.5,18) is on the line of direct variation

<u>case E)</u> point (12.5,24)

x=12.5\ y=24

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

24=\frac{12}{5}*12.5

18=30 -------> is not true

therefore

the point  (12.5,24) is not on the line of direct variation

<u>case F)</u> point (15,36)

x=15\ y=36

Substitute the value of x and y in the direct variation equation

36=\frac{12}{5}*15

36=36 -------> is true

therefore

the point (15,36) is on the line of direct variation

therefore

<u>the answer is</u>

(0,0)

(2.5,6)

(7.5,18)

(15,36)

If it took Mark 45 minutes to get to work and 35 minutes to get home, how long did he spend travelling to and from work?
oksano4ka [1.4K]

Mark spent a total of 80 minutes or 1 hour and 20 minutes traveling to and from work.

45 minutes + 35 minutes = 80 minutes

There are 60 minutes per hour, so their would 1 hour and 20 minutes.

write and solve an equation to find the width of the box if it's volume is 96 cubic centimeters. then find its surface area
Alex73 [517]
There's not enough given information in the question to calculate an answer.

If we only know that the volume of the box is 96 cm³, then there are an infinite
number of different lengths, widths, and surface areas that it could have.
