Answer:

Therefore, there is at least one class in which two people are wearing the same color shirt

Step-by-step explanation:

Proof: (By contradiction).

Suppose that, in each of the 8 classes, no two people wear the same color shirt.

Notice that, if there are 4 people in a class, then at least two of them are wearing the same color shirt

because they can only pick between 3 colors.

Hence the number of people in a class must be at most 3.

Since there are 8 classes, then the total number of attendees is at most 24.

A contradiction. Since the problem says there are 25 people attending yoga classes.

Therefore there is at least one class in which two people are wearing the same color shirt

Hank bought 5 meters of ribbon for $4. The ribbon costs -$0.008, 0.08, $0.8- per -millimeter, centimeter, kilometer-. Choose one
aleksandrvk [35]
To determine the cost of each meter of the ribbon, we divide the cost for 5 meters of ribbon by 5. That is,
                                        x = $4 / 5
where x is the cost of each meter. Simplifying will give us an answer of $0.8/m. Converting this to per mm.
                                   ($0.8/m) x (1 m/ 1000 mm)
                                = $0.0008/mm

assuming that the cost of the 48oz bottle is $4.20,
$4.20/48= about $0.08

the 48oz is better buy, as it is $0.08/oz

A wild animal generally stays at least x mi from the edge of a forest. For a rectangular forest preserve that is 2 mi
Butoxors [25]

Answer:

Area = 4x^2 - 14x + 10

Step-by-step explanation:

See Attachment for Complete Question

Given

Width = 5mi --- For the forest

Length = 2mi -- --- For the forest

Required

Determine the area of the habitat

Since the distance between the animal's habitat is x mi on both sides;

The length and width of the habitat is:

Width = 5 - (x + x)

Width = 5 - 2x

Height = 2 - (x +x)

Height = 2 - 2x

The area is then calculated as follows;

Area = Width * Height

Area = (5 - 2x) * (2 - 2x)

Expand

Area = 5(2 - 2x) -2x(2 - 2x)

Open Brackets

Area = 10 - 10x - 4x + 4x^2

Area = 10 - 14x + 4x^2

Reorder

Area = 4x^2 - 14x + 10

Hence; the required polynomial for the habitat area is:

Area = 4x^2 - 14x + 10
