Answer:

the answer is A

Explanation:

The third person limited point of view makes it possible for the reader to see Nadia practice for the recital and have insight into her nervousness. Since the reader only has access to what Nadia sees, says, and does, the reader only knows and experiences what she experiences.

Excerpt from Nadia’s Stage Fright

Clark Benson

Nadia knew those butterflies would be worse once she had to play the song in front of her entire school. When she decided to participate in the school talent show, she had chosen a more complicated piece of classical music. Nadia had been playing the piano since she was seven, and she truly wanted to challenge herself.

5 When the big night finally arrived, Nadia prepared backstage. She watched her classmates display their own various talents. Then came the moment that both excited and terrified her; she was up next.

SIZIF [17.4K]

Answer:

The purpose of these lines is to express love by likening a loved one to a nice day.

Explanation:

Shakespeare's "Sonnet 18" expresses admiration for a young person - many say it is a young man, but the sonnet itself does not make it clear who the speaker is addressing. The speaker compares this "fair youth" to a summer's day, but this person is more temperate, more lovely. While summer can be filled with extremes - sun shining too hot or too dim; rough winds -, the addressed person is more pleasant. While summer does not last long, this person's beauty shall last forever, immortalized in this sonnet, read about by people in years and years to come. The purpose of the sonnet is to express love and admiration for this person; the comparison with the summer's day is a tool that serves that purpose.

In at least 100 words, explain the significance of Bartleby's mantra "I would prefer not to" in Melville's short story "Bartleby
galina1969 [7]

The choice of this phrase has a paradoxical meaning in a way that Bartleby refuses to do the task asked from him and the expression of this rejection. It is a refusal, but at the same time it is a polite refusal because even when his boss asks again "You will not?", he answers again with "I prefer not". The phrase emphasizes Bartleby's passive resistance. The different use of the phrase, of course could have had a different effect in the story. It might cause a different demonstration and a different ending for the story. The boss could have replied differently because the refusal would be not polite then. However, the choice is intentional because of the development of the story. Therefore, it is suitable in its own way.
