Answer:

The correct answer is "Human activities have become the major cause of global change".

Explanation:

The missing options of this question are:

A) Humans are the most numerous species on Earth.

B) Humans live in all habitats where life exists.

C) Human activities have become the major cause of global change.

D) Human activities are achieving the goal of maintaining the Anthropocene indefinitely.

The correct answer is option C) "Human activities have become the major cause of global change".

The Anthropocene is a period of time that more than be dated by an historical event, is identified on a geological perspective by the time at which human activity was of significant impact on Earth's geology and ecosystems. This impact include climate change, affected mainly by the concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. For instance, it is reported that in pre-industrial times the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere was of 280 parts per million (ppm), while by 2014, it is reported that it rose up to 400 ppm.

The rate of a typical enzymatic reaction is increased by which of the following changes?A. Decrease substrate concentrationB. In
galben [10]

Answer:

D. Increase in temperature from 20 degrees C to 37 degree C

Explanation:

A decrease in substrate concentration might not necessarily lead to an increase in enzymatic activities.

Enzymes are pH specific. Thus increasing the pH of operation from 6.8 to 7.4 might destroy the enzyme.

Reactants need to overcome a minimum energy (activation energy) before they can be converted to products. The higher this energy, the lower the rate of reaction. Hence, increasing in activation energy will lead to a lower rate of enzymatic reaction.

<em>Enzymes work optimally at a temperature that is close to the human's body temperature which is 37.5 degrees. Hence, increasing temperature from 20 degrees to 37 degrees will result in an increased enzymatic activities.</em>

The correct option is D.

Which of the following does not correctly describe basic regulation of digestive activity?
shusha [124]

The correct answer is: b. conscious neural control

Neural control of digestive tract is unconscious achieved via the autonomic nervous system.

Local nervous system of the digestive system is called the enteric or intrinsic nervous system. The major components of this nervous system are two networks or plexuses of neurons:

• The myenteric plexus – controls digestive tract motility

• The submucous plexus - regulates gastrointestinal blood flow and controls epithelial cell function.

If i wanted to look at a onion cell what type of microscope would be best to use
poizon [28]
It is best to use regular light microscopes to observe that.

For simple structures, onion cells doesn't require a very large magnification. Magnifications for such as 100X or 150X is already enough to determine the different structures of onion cells such as cell walls or cytoplasm.

It is not very suitable to use a electron microscope especially as high school or college students, as electronic microscopes can be really expensive, usually only top universities have them. Also, it is quite complicated to control the microscope comparing to the common light microscope that we can easily find in many school laboratories. They're easy to function and they're a lot cheaper.

So, it's best advised to use a light microscope, unless if you're really into studying very detailed structures and you're experienced in doing these sorts of things, then you should use a electron microscope.
