Answer:

After putting myself in Johnsy’s position, I can empathize with her attitude throughout the story.

Explanation:

In the story "The Last Leaf", Johnsy was suffering from pneumonia. She had built a thought in her mind that with the falling of the leaves of the ivy vine, she too will fall and die. If I keep myself in Johnsy's position, I can empathize with her thoughts and perspectives about life and death. It is a humanistic approach to the hardships of life. The result of such negativity in Johnsy's approach was the lack of inspiration and the loss of aspiration. She overthought the inevitability of life and put herself under the negative zone. It is very commonly observed that when negativity approaches the mind, then everything we observe or see also becomes negative. Despite thinking about positivity and life, she associated her life with the falling of the leaves. This cannot be stated to be her fault or lack of positivity in her life, but a humanistic approach. It is the art and the beauty of it that helped Johnsy recover from the negativity in her life. Such situations may arise in any person's life. It is then that the role of art, a friend or a companion can be trusted upon. Her friend Sue, the old painter and the art of the leaves helped Johnsy recover and come back to life again.

bogdanovich [222]

Answer: The last sentence.

Explanation: in the last sentence the pronoun is placed where it clearly states whom they are speaking of. The second sentence could also be an answer but since it is misspelled I advise to just select the last sentence.
