Picture the morphology of an average soapberry bug from a rain tree population and compare it to the morphology of its new food

source, balloon vine seeds. This average bug was taken from a population containing a range of sizes. (a) Are large, small or average bugs more likely to have relative fitness on the new food source?(b) List one change in bug morphology that you would reasonably expect in bug populations that have been living on golden rain trees. (c) List one change in behavior that you would reasonably expect in bug populations that have been living on golden rain trees.(d) Soapberry bugs are small relative to their host plants, and the bugs vary in their abilities to disperse. Although they have wings, many soapberry bugs have developed flight muscles and walk more often than they fly. In davis, where both balloon vines and golden rain trees are grown, would a dispersing bug likely have higher fitness than one with less developed flight muscles? Explain your answer.

Answer:

(a) In this case, small bugs are more likely to have relative fitness on the new food source.

(b) A change that will occur in bug morphology is that the female bugs will turn out to be the same size as the male bugs.

(c) In terms of behavior, the bugs will experience less competition towards reproducing early.

(d) Yes, the dispersing bug would have higher fitness as they will be able to easily get access to new resources once the previous one has run out, whereas the bugs with less developed fight muscles will not be able to do so.

Hope that answers the question, have a great day!

Which freshwater source is a permanent shallow body of water with plant life throughout? lake pond reservoir wetland
Svetllana [295]

Answer:

Pond

Explanation:

Ponds are inland water bodies that are usually smaller in surface area than a lake and nonflowing in contrast to rivers or streams. However, a pond is a shallow freshwater source that inhabits organisms' life (plants and animals alike).

Due to the shallow state of a pond, light penetrates to the bottom, hence, allowing the constant growth of plant life. Therefore, PONDS are freshwater sources that contains a permanent shallow body of water with plant life throughout.

Answer:

A) cells of the tail dying and the nutrients being absorbed and reused by the body

Explanation:

The tails of the tadpole die when metamorphosing into an adult frog through a process Called Apoptosis. Apoptosis happens when it’s necessary for the body to kill some cells for development or other factors.

The cells which are killed produces nutrients which are then used and reabsorbed back into the body system of the frog.
