In this example, we learn that Elisa is unhappy with her job, but that she is unable to quit, as she needs the money. Therefore, it is likely that her dissatisfaction will manifest in the form of negative, passive responses that will affect her job performance.

An example of this would be being absent more often. This is likely to come with excuses in order to justify her absenteeism. Another example of such a response would be stealing work supplies. Finally, Elisa might provide a poor customer service.

If the manager were to catch Elisa in a manifestation of workplace deviance, then it is likely that he would reprimand her. This would probably increase the dissatisfaction that Elisa is feeling, making her neglect her duties even more.

Social Darwinism really ought to be called "Spencerism," after Herbert Spencer, who began such thoughts.  Spencer and Charles Darwin were rivals, not allies. The term "survival of the fittest" is actually a Spencer term, which he applied to human beings.  (Darwin used the term "natural selection" in reference to biological species.)  The ideas of what came to be known as "Social Darwinism" is that some people are just better and more fit to succeed than other, so they ought to succeed and rule over the less-talented members of the human species (like poor people).  Industry titans (sometimes referred to as "robber barons") used the ideas of Social Darwinism to justify their dominating ways over common laborers.

The correct answer is known as "foreclosed identity".

Foreclosed Identity refers to the identity of a person that has been discovered in his or her self, yet that person has not tried to explore or try other things, options or ideas. Just like in the situation wherein Matthew desires to be a doctor, though he has low grades in biology and low scores in the standardized tests, he continues to desire to become a doctor and does not consider other field of work.
