Answer:

  • The conditions in Liberia were unfavorable.
  • Many African Americans considered themselves Americans.
  • Their immigration removed their potential political influence.

Explanation:

346 immigrants from Barbados joined the small number of African Americans went to Liberia after the American Civil War. At that time, the abolitionists did not think that this immigration would have a good result because they believed that the conditions in Liberia were very unfavorable and would not provide a good quality of life, in addition, many African Americans considered themselves American and would not adapt well the culture and rule of the Liberia. The abolitionists also felt that such immigration would remove the potential political influence that African Americans had, because in Liberia they could not achieve full participation in the social, civic, and political life of the nation.

Read the excerpt from "Bluesman on the Move.” All I want— to find a place where I fit in. Based on the idiom, what type of place
777dan777 [17]
From the excerpt given above, 'fits in' as used in this passage means to feel comfortable and acceptable in a place, thus the correct option is A. An idiom is a group of words that is not taken literally, that is, their meaning can not be deduced from those of individual word. 'Fit in' as an idiom means to be comfortable with something or someone, to be in harmony with that thing.

Describe Wiesel's opinion of his fellow Sighet citizens. Find and write a line from the text the supports your statement.
Naddika [18.5K]
The people of Sighet, like many Jewish people in Europe at the time, are naive and unable to believe the atrocities being committed by the Nazis.

When Moshe returns to Sighet and tells everyone about what he experienced, they are unable to believe him. Instead of believing him, the people of Sighet say he is crazy. If they were to believe him, they would have to admit the fact they were in danger as well. They do not believe until it is far too late to leave.
