Answer:

<em>Here you go!</em>

Explanation:

Dear Friend,

I am currently away from home visiting a long lost relative away from our hometown. Right now, I'm in Chicago, Illinois (yes, there's a city in Illinois called Chicago. Cool, right?) and like I said, I'm here for a relative. There's a couple kids here that live around the neighborhood. One of them invited me to their house to jump on their trampoline, it was exhilerating. Tommorow, I'm planning to go fishing with my relative, maybe I could get to know them a lot better. I plan to go back home in about a week by plane, I'm very excited to be with you once more. Well, that's all I have to say for now.

Sincerely,

A fellow brainly user.

How does Gogol use techniques like irony, hyperbole, and absurdity to create humor?
konstantin123 [22]

Gogol is best known for his use of irony, hyperbole, and absurdity to create humor and a sense of existential weariness. In some of his works, like <em>The Nose, Diary of a Madman, </em>and even in his unfinished novel, <em>Dead Souls, </em>he famously takes advantage of a single element, like a nose that has lost its owner, the royal ravings of an office clerk, or the business behind recollecting dead souls, respectively, and extrapolates this element to make it englobe and define his fictional characters, this then puts the characters in very absurd situations that, even though they cause hilarity, leave the reader with a sense of dread and even horror, the irony being that, though existence be dreadful, it is, nonetheless, comical to a point of absurdity.

Answer:

Telegraphic Speech.

Explanation:

The Telegraphic Stage of the Language Development occurs at the age of two or two-and-a-half years. The term 'telegraphic' is used in relation to the words that we use in telegraphs, short. <u>The term was fabricated by Roger Brown and Colin Fraser in 1963 in their book titled 'The Acquisition of Syntax.'</u>

The child instead of saying the whole grammatically correct sentences begin to form short sentences such as given in the question.

<u>The words that are being uttered by Sammy are telegraphic. Thus the stage of language development at which Sammy is the Telegraphic Speech</u>.

Antigone and Ismene heard with horror what Creon had decided. To Ismene, shocking as it was, overwhelming her with anguish for t
Kobotan [32]

Answer:

The answer is<em> Ismene represents a coward in comparison to Antigone’s heroine.</em>

Explanation:

Antigone is a character from Greek mythology, inspiration for many plays, books, operas, paintings. She lived in Thebes, Greek city-state, during civil war. Her two brothers, Polynices and Eteocles, fought for the throne on the opposite sides. Since both brothers died in a fight, new ruler of the Thebes, Creon, decided that Eteocles will be declared a hero and buried with all honors while Polynices was declared a traitor of his homeland and was not allowed to be buried. For the ancient Greeks, funeral was very important, it was believed that if not buried, one can not reach the afterlife and spends eternity in Hades (Hell). Antigone couldn't let her own brother be left unburied and devoured by wild animals and she decided to give him proper burial, although it was against the Creon's law and she could be sentenced to death. She showed bravery deciding that her love for brother was greater than fear of sentence, while Ismene, being also Polynices's sister, showed completely opposite actions.
