And remember also that in fighting against Man, we must not come to resemble him. Even when you have conquered him, do not adopt his vices. No animal must ever live in a house, or sleep in a bed, or wear clothes, or drink alcohol, or smoke tobacco, or touch money, or engage in trade. All the habits of Man are evil. And, above all, no animal must ever tyrannize over his own kind. Weak or strong, clever or simple, we are all brothers. No animal must ever kill any other animal. All animals are equal. –Animal Farm, George Orwell

Read the passage carefully. Then use evidence from the text to write a well-structured paragraph that compares and contrasts the ideas of Karl Marx and Old Major.

Answer:

George Orwell used the character of Old Major in Animal Farm to compare the ideas of Karl Marx.

Explanation:

Karl Max was a well respected sociologist that was born in the 18th century.

Old Major is a character in Animal Farm by George Orwell.

They are both similar in the instance that they both believe in equality.

They also believed in the removal of class divisions. Karl Max wrote about it in his Communist Manifesto while Old Major talked about it in his speech in Big Barn.

Karl Max and Old Major were both distinctly different because while Old Major campaigned majorly for the betterment of animals, Karl Max was all about the betterment of humans.

Answer: George Orwell wrote an allegory of the Russian Revolution, and used the character of Old Major to explore the philosophy of Karl Marx. Old Major states many of Marx’s ideas, such as a belief in equality and in the elimination of class divisions. Both Old Major and Marx also advocate for rebellion to end the oppression of workers. Marx says that the means of production should be held in common. Similarly, Old Major believes that the animals could run the farm together. The main difference between them is that Marx writes about people, while Major speaks about animals. Both call for a more just society.

Drag each tile to the correct location. Not all tiles will be used.

Answer: "great, grey, stone wall", ''Sour smelling cement''

Explanation:

If we are trying to connect both the Berlin Wall picture and Inge's Wall (literary artwork) we must be aware of the story in that Inge's Wall is representing.

Inge's Wall story: In Inge's Wall, there is one wall with two sides, one side is unattainable and alive, unlike the other side where the main character Inge is living. Her side is grey, without color and lifeless. She discovered the bright side when she looked up through the one hole that she found on that wall and then she saw a different world, opposite of her own.

 • If we compare the phrases with the picture, we can see that the wall is great, grey and from the stone and sour smelling cement because that was her point of view in the novel.

Since we cannot see much more, we cannot tell if there are busy traffic or laughter and music on the other side of the wall.

Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

The correct answer is B. Elizabeth should ask, "Which traits show Theseus's heroism?" using a current article from a scholarly website for research. A scholarly website is a website based around intense studying of academics, a 1990's newspaper article would be based around news at that current time, not mythology from ages ago.
