Answer: I would contend that the right answer is actually the B) Dialect.

Explanation: Just to elaborate a little bit on the answer, it can be added that, in this passage, the character of the runaway slave Jim, Huck's close friend and caretaker during their escape across the river, is explaining to Huck, in his own characteristic, yet perfectly decipherable for Huck (who translates his words for us), dialect, what he did with ten cents that he had made after having sold the hide and the tail of a cow. Another person invested the money for him, but it did not bring him any profit, so he is "not going to lend any more money" until he is certain that it's safe to do so. A priest had told that person that if he gave the ten cents to the poor he would get a hundred times over, and Jim is here questioning that statement. He concludes by saying that if he could get his ten cents back he could call them even and would be happy.

The use of dialects was a distinguishing feature of realism and regionalism in American literature, as it is exemplary illustrated throughout Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. By using dialect so masterfully, Twain was able to invite the reader to literally take a seat next to Huck Finn, and experience the region and its people the way he was experiencing it during his adventure across the Mississippi River.

Firlakuza [10]
Daisy was in a relationship with Gatsby at an early age. He has been gone for 10 years and she had thought he died in WW1. Gatsby was Daisy's first love and she had put him and their relationship on a pedestal. At first their is disbelief that Gatsby is in fact not dead but alive. She is madly in love with him and does not understand how he is still alive and is enraptured by the enigma and mysterious circumstances his appearance has brought into her life. After the death of Myrtle Wilson, Daisy is able to return back to her normal life. The ease in which she is able to actually do this is testament to the societal views towards women at the time. Women were viewed as helpless and Daisy was probably thought incapable of a vicious murder so the police did not pursue an indictment. Her husband was also a powerful businessman and must have certainly had clout in the political sphere.

Read this excerpt from "The Tyranny of Bad Journalism" by G.K Chesterton. How do you know this essay is intended for a large pub
algol [13]
The correct answer is D. Although the author discusses his opinion. The topic is not only his personal issue but it was directed at the Tory and those who write with a monotone in journalism. Chesterton also does not highlight any good characteristics about journalism. He stresses this by pointing out a small aspect of journalism which is advertisement. The author uses real life scenarios as facts to support his opinion but this does not emphasize the essay is for the public as much as D. His whole message that bad journalism belittles the capabilities of journalists and the public serves as the essay's purpose. Through the essay's purpose a reader knows it is addressed to the general public.

anastassius [24]

I think that it the second option. The words were borrowed into English along with concepts they describe. Since ballet was developed and refined in France, in order to make it more universal, the concepts and steps were given the French name. This makes it easier for everyone to come together.

Hope that helps!

Varvara68 [4.7K]
Well, you could say that the purchasing power of a dollar is much less because more money is made and causes the worth of the dollar bill to decrease, making things more expensive. This is called inflation. However, when less money is made, the worth of a dollar bill increases, and things become less expensive. this is called deflation
