The available options are:

A.) high

B.) even

C.) low

D.) close

Answer:

high

Explanation:

For easy ride and safety rule, it is expected that a driver should ensure that the steering wheel is in an appropriate stance which gives a clear view when driving. Thus, a driver should be able to adjust the seat in a better and most comfortable position possible. This is achievable by settling the driving seat at a level where the vision is clear without any form of obstruction and at the same time, the position favors the legs in reaching pedals without difficulty.

Hence, in this case, You should always adjust the seat as HIGH as possible, while staying comfortable.

According to cultural critic, Edward said and others, race is a social construction that often serves certain political and soci
IceJOKER [234]

Answer:

-Orientalism is the framework by which we understand the history of Asian immigration to the United States and its impacts on the perceived view of the East. This constructed concept of the orient created hostility in 19th Century America and led to notion of Yellow Peril.

-Said states that Orientalism is the exaggeration of difference, the presumption of Western superiority, and the use of clichés and outmoded analytical models for interpreting the Eastern world. Said holds Orientalism responsible for the inaccurate cultural representations that until recently have served as the foundation of Western study of the Eastern world.

-Said has a particular focus on the way the Middle East is portrayed, and considers Orientalism a source of persistent Eurocentric prejudice against Arabs and Muslims. He states that East Asian cultures dominate Western perspective of the region, and all others are frequently ignored.

-A central idea of Orientalism is that Western knowledge about the East is not generated from facts or reality, but from preconceived archetypes that envision all “Eastern” societies as fundamentally similar to one another, and fundamentally dissimilar to “Western” societies. This a priori knowledge establishes “the East” as antithetical to “the West.”

-As the East was seen as barbaric, traditional, strange and different, the West was seen as civilized, rational, Christian, modern, and ideal. These constructed beliefs were the system in which Westernized people viewed people from the East as inferior, threatening, and exotic. This led to many problems between ethnic groups and the resistance of Americans to want to accept anyone from the East into their culture.

-American Orientalism reflects Said’s claim because it is based on the idea of domination of the West and its influence on the East.

-According to researchers, Orientalism was originated in colonial period, but today it “continues to shape attitudes, images and knowledge.

-The concept of Orientalism in American society has been shaped by Said’s paradigms regarding the relationship between the West and the East. In general, the roots of Orientalism in the United States are associated with the attitudes, beliefs and values of the immigrants who came from Europe to North America in the late 16-th century –early 17-th century.

-The concept of orientalism and increasing numbers of Chinese immigrants brought about much of the anti-Chinese hostility in the 19th Century. The hostility mainly derived from the workforce. Many Chinese immigrant men came to America looking for work. Since laws were passed in America restricting the amount of labor a Chinese immigrant could do, the immigrants were willing to accept lesser wages than the average white American man. This left an imbalance in the American economy and started leaving more Americans without a job.

-The Americans retaliated by creating more laws against the Chinese including the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. This act explicitly says the Chinese are ineligible for citizenship in the United States, reducing the amount of Chinese Immigrants immensely. The Chinese were looking for a way out of China and with the accessibility of the ports, glamour of jobs, land of freedom, and promise of false hope in America; this was the place to be.

-Orientalism is the main caused for the Yellow Peril in the US, the belief that the expansion and influence of the East is a threat or danger to the West.

even in the 21st century some tribes of Nepal are living in hunting and gathering society. Their existence has become critical d
Evgen [1.6K]

Answer:

Four measures on how to help some hunting-gathering tribes of Nepal from extinction are to include them in any development plans, to incorporate their practices and traditions in the education system so that people will be aware of such tribes and the importance to respect other customs, the provision of a safe space for them to continue their practices and also the inclusion of these tribes in the government schemes/ plans.

Explanation:

The basis of hunting-gathering is an age-old tradition that can be found in various parts of the world. But of late, this practice has dwindled and most communities have incorporated and even 'moved' to the western styles of life.

While the basic concept of hunting-gathering is all about man's dependence on nature and its products for his survival, it is also a huge issue that has somehow come in conflict with 'modernity'. This is also the case with some tribes such as the Raute of Nepal who is still living this life. And with the rise in modernity and western culture, it is no surprise to see them dwindle and even on the verge of extinction. So, four measures that can help save such tries from becoming extinct is-

1. The promotion of better infrastructure and development plans for these tribes so as not to leave them dry and alone. If such plans are made, then they can also have a safety net within which they can continue surviving and not be deemed a threat to the development of the nation.

2. Allocation of some forest space for them so that they can easily maintain and preserve their traditions while still be safe from any foreign intrusion. This will also provide them a safe space to maintain their lifestyle while also not disturbing or be a nuisance to 'outsiders'.

3. Every culture and community have the right to practice and preserve their heritage and traditions. So, even if there is a need for development, these communities also need or have the right to be allowed to keep their lifestyle. So, any development plan that the government might suggest should also think about their interest and incorporate plans in such a way that they are not discriminated against.

4. Inclusion of these communities in any plan and respecting their ways, thus the inclusion of such tribes and their ways into the education systems/ syllabus will allow people to learn and know more about such tribes. Then, this will help in spreading awareness and respect for one another and help save or preserve their traditions while at the same time, making outsiders aware of these tribes.
