Answer with Step-by-step explanation:

Residual is calculated by the difference between actual value and the predicted value.

Actual sales Predicted sales Residual

55 40 15

150 150 0

325 300 25

510 500 10

780 800 -20

990 1000 -10

Sum of residuals=15+0+25+10-20-10

                           =20

Hence, sum of residuals is:

20

They were up 15+0+25+10-20-10=20. The sum was 20 :)

Jabari owns 100 shares of Stock A and 45 shares of Stock B. For the past month, his stocks have been fluctuating inversely each
aniked [119]
This is how we solved and make the equation.
Stock A = 100
Stock B = 45

For the past months, his stocks inversely decreased.
Stock A = m cents / share
Stock B = n cents * share

So the equation is
= 100 (0.01m) + 45 (0.01n)
= m + 0.45n

Read the foxtrot comic strip. write an explanation, including graphs or diagrams, confirming that running "10 yards out, then 10
MAXImum [283]
You want to drwa a diagram

ok, so 10√2 yards at a 45 degree angle

alrighty

let's use a graphing plane
our starting point is at (0,0), the origin
if we go 10 right and 10 up, we end up at (10,10)
now, if we were to draw a line from our starting point (the origin) to the ending point (10,10), we get a line (duh)
if we measure the angle between the line and the x axis, we get 45 degrees
if we find the distance from (0,0) to (10,10) using the distaance formula, we get 10√2 is the distance from (0,0) to (10,10)

so going 10 out and 10 right is same as 10√2 at 45 degree angle

or you could draw a triangle (see diagram)
legs are 10 and 10, connect them to get a hypotnuse
since the legs are equal lengths, the angles are 45-45-90, we have a 45-45-90 triangle
we can either use the special properies of a 45-45-90 triangle (side lenghs are x:x:x√2) or use pythagorean

so remember if te legs are a,b,,c then a²+b²=c²
a=b=10
10²+10²=c²
100+100=c²
200=c²
sqrt both sides
10√2=c

the lenght is 10√2 at a 45 degree angle

1. A manufacturer claims that the mean lifetime of its fluorescent bulbs is 1500 hours. A homeowner selects 40 bulbs and finds t
IRINA_888 [86]

Answer:

(1) Sample mean is 1480 hours and population standard deviation is 80 hours

(2) Null hypothesis: The mean lifetime of its fluorescent bulbs is 1500 hours

Alternate hypothesis: The mean lifetime of its fluorescent bulbs is less than 1500 hours

(3) 1.645

(4) D

(5) B

(6) A

Step-by-step explanation:

(1) From the population parameter, the sample mean is 1480 hours and population standard deviation is 80 hours

(2) The null hypothesis is statement deduced from the population parameter which is tested to be true or false

The alternate hypothesis is also a statement from the population parameter that negates the null hypothesis

(3) Using the standard normal distribution table, the critical value of one tailed test with significance level of 0.05 is 1.645

(4) Z = (sample mean - population mean)/(sd/√n)

sample mean = 1480, population mean = 1500, sd = 80, n = 40

Z = (1480 - 1500)/(80/√40) = -20/12.65 = -1.58

(5) The null hypothesis is rejected because the test statistic -1.58 is less than the critical value 1.645

(6) There is not enough evidence to support the claim that the mean lifetime of its fluorescent bulbs is 1500 hours because the null hypothesis is rejected
