In order for protein from food to be absorbed and used, it from food must be digested into smaller components. Consider what hap

pens when you eat a high-protein food like scrambled eggs, and rank the steps in the correct order.
Rank the steps of protein digestion in order, starting with the step that occurs first.
1. Stomach acid denatures proteins.
2. Enzymes from the small intestine lining act on protein remnants, breaking them into single amino acids, which are absorbed into the cells of the lining.
3. Mechanical digestion results in the formation of a bolus.
4. Single amino acids travel through the bloodstream to the portal vein and then to the liver.
5. Pancreatic enzymes cleave peptide bonds, leaving dipeptides, tripeptides, and single amino acids
6. Pepsin breaks the polypeptide chains into shorter chains.
7. Take a bite of scrambled eggs. Amino acids are used by the body

Answer:

Take a bite of scrambled eggs.

Mechanical digestion results in the formation of a bolus.

This begins in the mouth where the teeth and tongue break down scrambled egg, and mold it respectively. The is soften by the saliva.

Stomach acid denatures proteins;

As this moves by peristalsis through the oesophagus,it enters the stomach for next stage of digestion.Digestion of protein starts in the stomach and ends in the small intestine. The bolus is denatured by the acidic medium of the stomach. At this stage it called Chyme, because it is semi-fluid in nature.

Pepsin breaks the polypeptide chains into shorter chains

Pepsin is present in the stomach. chief cells,to convert protein to Peptides.

. In the small intestine

Pancreatic enzymes cleave peptide bonds, leaving dipeptides, tripeptides, and single amino acids.

Trypsin Elastase Chymotrypsin, are secreted by the pancreas. They act on the protein and convert it to peptides. This occurs on the wall of the small intestine. Furthermore Carboxypeptidase from the pancreas acts on the protein further converted to peptides and Amino acids.

Small Intestine

Enzymes from the small intestine lining act on protein remnants, breaking them into single amino acids, which are absorbed into the cells of the lining.

Aminopeptidase Dipeptidase are secrested from the wall of intestine to finalay convert the protein to Amino acids, the end products of protein digestion.

. Single amino acids travel through the bloodstream to the portal vein and then to the liver.

Amino acids are used by the body.

This is used for enzymes formation, hormones etc.

*have a different system of reproducing, as well as growing
*and live in two different types of environments.
Also, remember, the fly trap is a carnivorous plant, while the lotus is not

- How might this offset transcription or translation errors?-

The existence of several codons that code for the same amino acid ensure that even when a mistake in the processes of transcribing the sequence from DNA to mRNA or translational errors, there is still a significant chance of correct amino acid being added to the protein.
