Answer:

(not exactly sure) bald eagle: america/usa egg: represents “new” or “small”

Explanation:

the bald eagle is a well known symbol of the usa. The egg might symbolize something small or new, like a baby bird. this relates to the “new iraqi government” The bald eagle is already grown, but it expects the egg to know how to “fly” (grow up, have responsibilities, maintain government, etc)

Her review of the play revealed her clever _____ when the drama critic simply stated, “If you don’t knit, bring a book.”
diamong [38]

Answer:

When somebody uses knowledge to apply to useful ideas  quickly, we say that person is clever;  now when that clever person is able to associate words and ideas gracefully in a way that conveys confidence, understanding and even humor, we say that person is witty, or has wit.

That statement was funny and mindful, thereby:

<em>"Her review of the play revealed her clever </em><em>wit</em><em>"</em>

How does the lack of information available about Shakespeare influence people’s opinions about his authorship?
olganol [36]

The lack of information about Shakespeare presents questions of credibility and reliability. People may believe that Shakespeare was a front to hide the identity of the real author/authors, and that Shakespeare did not write plays credited to him rather than another discredited author.

In at least 100 words, explain the significance of Bartleby's mantra "I would prefer not to" in Melville's short story "Bartleby
galina1969 [7]

The choice of this phrase has a paradoxical meaning in a way that Bartleby refuses to do the task asked from him and the expression of this rejection. It is a refusal, but at the same time it is a polite refusal because even when his boss asks again "You will not?", he answers again with "I prefer not". The phrase emphasizes Bartleby's passive resistance. The different use of the phrase, of course could have had a different effect in the story. It might cause a different demonstration and a different ending for the story. The boss could have replied differently because the refusal would be not polite then. However, the choice is intentional because of the development of the story. Therefore, it is suitable in its own way.
