Answer: $50,301

Explanation:

If they offered the new terms of 2/10, net 30 then 45 percent of their customers would pay on day 10 with the remainder paying on average in 32 days.

The collection period would therefore be;

= 0.45 * 10 + 0.55 * 32

= 22.1 days

Currently the Average Daily sales are;

= Average Receivables/ Average collection period

= 211,410/29

= $7,290

With the new collection period their Average receivables would be;

= 7,290 * 22.1

= $‭161,109‬

Potential cash to be freed up = Current Receivables - New receivables

= 211,410 - 161,109

= $50,301

Blue Ridge Bicycles uses a standard part in the manufacture of several of its bikes. The cost of producing 45,000 parts is $14
Morgarella [4.7K]

Answer:

$2.07 per unit

Explanation:

Currently 45,000 units produced

total cost= $72,000 (variable) + $70,000 (fixed) = $142,000

average total cost per unit = $142,000 / 45,000 units = $3.16 per unit

if the company outsources the production of the part:

total cost = $72,000 + ($70,000 x 30%) = $72,000 + $21,000 = $93,000

average total cost per unit = $93,000 / 45,000 units = $2.07 per unit

if Blue Ridge spends more than $2.07 per unit, it will be spending more money by outsourcing the part than by producing it.

e.g. $2.10 per unit

total costs = ($2.10 x 45,000) + ($70,000 x 70%) = $94,500 + $49,000 = $143,500 which is higher than $142,000.

Big data analytics programs (which analyze massive data sets to make decisions) use gigantic computing power to quantify trends
Sidana [21]

Answer:

The correct answer is: No, it may not decrease the humanity of production in organizations.

Explanation:

To begin with, the term known as <em>''humanity of production'' </em>refers to that human element that gives to the company its capability of leadership and other human abilities. Moreover, when it comes to the big data analytics those programs would not decrease the humanity of production because in order to create all those programs and in order to read all the information that those programs give and to use it and implement there will be a need of using human capital to complete the whole objective. So therefore that human will be as need as machines.

People end up tossing 12% of what they buy at the grocery store (Reader's Digest, March, 2009). Assume this is the true populati
Marina CMI [18]

Answer:

Consider the following calculations

Explanation:

People end up tossing 12% of what they buy at the grocery store (Reader's Digest, March, 2009). Assume this is the true population proportion and that you plan to take a sample survey of 540 grocery shoppers to further investigate their behavior.

a- Show the sampling distribution of ( p¯ ), the proportion of groceries thrown out by your sample respondents

sampling distribution of ( p¯ ) is normal with

mean = 0.12   and

standard error = sqrt(p(1-p)/n) = sqrt(0.12*0.88/540) =0.0140

b- what is the probability that the sample proportion will be within ±.03 of the population proportion?

z value for 0.03 difference, z=0.03/0.014 =2.14

The required P= P( -2.14<z<2.14) = P( z <2.14) – P( z <-2.14)

=0.9838 - 0.0162

=0.9676

c- what is the probability that your survey will provide a sample proportion within ±.015 of the population proportion?

z value for 0.015 difference, z=0.015/0.014 =1.07

The required P= P( -1.07<z<1.07) = P( z <1.07) – P( z <-1.07)

=0.8577 - 0.1423

=0.7154

d- What would be the effect of taking a larger sample on the probabilities in parts (b) and (c)? Why?

Taking a larger sample will decrease the standard error. The probabilities in parts (b) and (c) will increase.
