In this novel, the character is portrayed as an anti-hero and this novel deals with finding the world’s meaning and the nature of evil and good.</u> In the novel, Grendel is shown as sin personified and evil in a Manichean war which he cannot avoid. According to him, of all the primitive religions, evil is always placed outside the nature in the unknown spirits. In the story, Grendel is portrayed as a physical creature in his original work.  

He lived in the isolation with his mother who is in her old age and she is really not able to provide any sought of companionship to her child. He describes the length of the man’s decision-making process and states that man’s mind can sometimes turn out to be his worst enemy.
