Each of the historical periods you studied a hero or an idealized vision of the perfect individual. In the Anglo-Saxon times, th

e hero was a strong, honorable warrior with no fear. In the Middle Ages, the hero was a knight who was loyal to his lord and his lady and protected the innocent. The so-called "Renaissance man" of the fifteenth century was a genius who was well versed in science, poetry, and the arts. During the Enlightenment, the ideal man combined the intelligence of the ancient philosophers and the love for logic and scientific truth brought about by the most recent discoveries. Which one do you think would mostly benefit contemporary society?

Answer:

The Enlightenment man would be the most beneficial to today's society.

Explanation:

As was shown in the question above, the Enlightenment man was a great scholar and used to apply the concepts he had studied in the society in which he lived, always considering logic and truth and aiming to help the people most oppressed by society.

As our current society is taken over by polariazação, the persecution of science and study, the persecution of minorities and political fanaticism, I believe that the great scholar and thinker as an enlightenment would be the ideal to be a contemporary hero.

3. I believe the correct answer is: C. "Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold."

The description of the scene is reminiscent of the following line from a poem “The Second coming” by William Butler Yeats is "Things fall apart; the center cannot hold." Septimus believes that he is the one stopping the world from bursting to flames:” It is I who am blocking the way, he thought. Was he not being looked at and pointed at; was he not weighted there, rooted to the pavement, for a purpose?”
