How do the central ideas of decay and fear of rejection interact within "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"? Click here to rea

d the poem. The poet combines imagery of Prufrock's physical aging with statements of despair over his incapacity to approach women. The poet judges Prufrock's attire as poor by contrasting it with the apparel of the women he finds desirable. The poet alludes to obscure literary works to show that Prufrock understands his hopeless situation. What does the author most likely mean in line 18 when
OLga [1]

Answer:

The notion of the phoenix probably means that love gives her hope for a change or better life. The phoenix symbolizes being recreated or reborn.

Explanation:

It is likely the author means that women often feel like love is their escape or that once they find a husband they can be reborn from having to succumb always to the wills of men in her life. A phoenix is a mythological bird that is reborn again after burning, emerging from the ashes as reborn. Love gives them hope for a time but then the "disturbed rest" and "painful signs" suggest that she suffers because of love as well. The entire poem laments the position of women at that time which was conceived as normally controlled by and subservient to men.

A is the only possible answer. The article does not have any information about the number of RunTex stores in town, how to be part of Marathon Kids, or the history of child marathon runners. Summaries of an article should not include information that the article does not contain. The only information contained in the article that is also an answer choice is the site of the Final Mile Medal Celebration.
