Due to a genetic mutation, a mouse is born with fur that is not as light as fur in other mice of the same population. This makes

it easier for the mouse to blend into the environment.
How will this mutation most likely affect the mouse and the population?

The mouse with the mutation will not survive, and the trait will disappear from the population.
The mouse with the mutation will survive and reproduce, and the trait will spread over future generations.
The mouse with the mutation will not survive, but the trait will appear again in the next generation.
The mouse with the mutation will survive and reproduce, but the trait will disappear because it was caused by a mutation.

Ans.

The mutation that results in a mouse with less light fur as compare to other mice of same population, makes it easier for the mice to blend into their surrounding environment. According to law of natural selection, if a genetic mutation is beneficial for a population, the mutated organism survives to reproduce and that mutation gets transferred on to its offspring.

Thus, the correct answer is 'option). the mouse with the genetic mutation will survive and reproduce, and the trait (for fur) will spread over future generations.'

Describe Henrietta Leavitt's discovery, and explain why it was so important in the society in which she lived.
spayn [35]

Henrietta Discovery

Henrietta Swan Leavitt discovered cepheids in 1908 during the investigation of different stars in the clouds. She published it by working more on it in 1912 and died in December 1921. This discovery was so important in the society in which she lived because the cosmologist of America was known for this discovery of Cepheids which is a relationship between period, luminosity and quivering stars which changes in light.

If all the macromolecules are made mainly of the elements CHO, how are they different?
Elanso [62]
The four main classes of organic compounds (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids) that are essential to the proper functioning of all living things are known as polymers or macromolecules. All of these compounds are built primarily of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen but in different ratios. This gives each compound different properties. Carbohydrates are used by the body for energy and structural support in cell walls of plants and exoskeletons of insects and crustaceans. They are made of smaller subunits called nionosaccharides. Monosaccharides have carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen in a 1:2:1 ratio. Monosaccharides or simple sugars include glucose, galactose, and fructose. Although their chemical formulas are the same, they have different structural formulas. These simple sugars combine to make disaccharides (double sugars like sucrose) and polysaccharides (long chains like cellulose, chitin, and glycogen). Color code the glucose molecule on this worksheet (carbon-black, hydrogenyellow, and oxygen-red). Use your textbook to help draw the structural formulas for fructose and galactose:

Which characteristic is common to both segmented worms and roundworms?
zysi [14]
I believe the answer would be C. Because all worms normally have round bodies, and yes, they can be slender. They also don't really have nostrils, they can breathe through their skin even though they don't have lungs. So C. would be the best answer.
