Although, according to Lincoln, white men were better than black people in other things. Originally, Lincoln believed that slavery should not be stopped in the states where it already existed.

John B. Robinson considered that African Americans were made by God for the purpose of servitude. He thought they always were going to be slaves and if they would be free someday, black people would become barbaric individuals.
