Firstly, Nazca pottery is characterized by strong colors. The images shown on Nazca pottery are staring eyes, unspecified gods and people (often just a face); in addition, animals and creatures such as lizards, monkeys, birds, whales and mythical ones are often shown. They were very innovative with the form as well.
Moche pottery also showcased both people and animals. Compared to the Nazca pottery, Moche made their much less colorful. There's usually a cream or white background with red decoration. Their human representations usually have some supernatural features while the animals (birds, fish, feline, reptiles, deer, foxes, monkeys etc.) are both represented realistically or hybridized.

The Nazca painted images directly onto the clay pots instead of creating figures from the clay as the Moche did.

Discuss three aspects of Acorn House that make it sustainable.
PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

1. The Acorn House’s entire building is sustainable. The chairs are completely recycled and can be recycled, the equipment is mostly recommissioned equipment, and the lights are powered by wind.                    2. Sustainable restaurants are, obviously, complete opposites to non-sustainable restaurants. Sustainable restaurants dedicate most of their work to minimizing waste while still keeping customers happy whereas non-sustainable restaurants will build up waste without a care or worry with the money they spend.                                                                                         3. Procurement is the process of obtaining the necessary food and supply items to achieve the food service goal of serving quality meals.  Proper purchasing, receiving and storing food is the only way to ensure proper, safe and quality meals to serve to your customers.

4. What I look for in a restaurant is good food, lovely environment, and fast service. As a customer, I would choose a sustainable restaurant because they are ecologically sound , economically viable, and  socially acceptable to everyone which would make me feel more welcome.

The author of our textbook, Bruno Nettl describes music in the following way. "To be properly understood, music should be studie
sesenic [268]

Answer: d. Sounds

Explanation:

According to Bruno Netti on Ethnomusicology, Music is diverse. It always expresses a subtext determined by culture, class, gender and personality and by a society's idea of music. Evidenced by the different genres of music we have.

Alan Merriam's three part model on music suggests that music is a phenomenon that consists of three sides; sound, behaviour and ideas.

So therefore for music to be understood, it should be studied as a group of sounds, as behaviour that leads to these sounds, and as a group of ideas or concepts that govern the sound and the behaviour.

PolarNik [594]

Answer:

I believe it shows both higher level thinking as well as a form of art.  The Blombos caves shows ancient artifacts showing interlectual structure of improvement by adapting the form of art. The caves preserved the art showing that they have learned how to create triangular art by carving the stone(similar to the woodcut technique) which would be widdled with a sharp object such as a knife, bones, or a sharp stone. As for the artifacts, the cave walls were painted(proof of art) showing ancient animals and how they hunted by creating weapons(also artifacts). So as you might see, the Blombos caves show artifacts of a higher thinking as well as a form of art.
